Can you catch a disney parking lot shuttle if you don't park there?

We're staying in a townhouse just south of the convention center. It's a bit too long of a walk for the kids. We could walk to the Toy Story parking lot and take a shuttle from there.

Would that work?

Yep, we do it every visit. We stay at a hotel across the street from the Toy Story parking lot and while our AP would get us free parking, there is really no sense in driving around the block to park, so we walk over, hop the bus and go. We have to walk through the employee parking lot to get to the main lot, and have never been told not to do so....in fact we often run into CMs with lanyards and do a little pin trading on our way.

Remember, Disney wants you inside the park....they're not going to make it difficult! THey'd love for you to pay for parking too, but the main goal is to get you inside the gates!

I find this thread funny because I asked this same question when planning one of our trips after the TS lot opened and I was convinced not to do it (thanks skiingfast ). Now it seems to be a common thing...making me consider the Sheraton Park now...

Anyone know the time of the first or last shuttle? Also, what is the earliest shuttle on MM's?

I believe the shuttles all run up to an hour after park closing. Not sure what time they start for MM though I'm sure it would be at least 30 min before.

Is the Toy Story lot always open? Or is it based on crowds/season?

We will be there in Oct staying at the Dolphin Cove and we hope to walk around the corner and hop on the shuttle.

In the past year we have been there in September, November, December, January, March, and May and it's always been open.
