Can you cancel Previous BRP rooms?

Just wanted to let you guys know that I recieved my refund on the 12th after cancelling my BRP for POR and then making a new one for FW Cabins.

I would definitely call again and try another CM. Also, go online and pull up your ressie. Once you do, check the terms. The new terms are listed not the old terms.

Good Luck!

I have spoken with 5 different cms and they will not cancel my reservation without penalty. I quoted the cancellation policy on the website and they all say the same thing "You booked the BRP and are bound by the one night deposit penalty should you cancel."

Oh well, live and learn.

Hmm
I cancelled my BRP for February last week. I made a new AP reservation online. I tried to just modify my reservation, but the CM could not get the same rate as I had online..strange...anyways....

I checked my credit card online....I received a credit of 7.67.
This is the 13% tax on room rate of $59.
I have yet to see the $59 credited.
I was told I could cancel without penalty, but was kind of shocked when I received a credit on only the tax.

Anyone else have this experience?
I'm thinking I should call Disney and see what's up.

Hey, let us know what happens with this. Thanks!

I called Disney to check again on my cancellation of a resort room only and was advised it has been processed and should be credited within the next 3 business days.

Not sure why I was able to cancel without penalty and you can't. Seems quite odd since if you retrieve your ressie on the WDW website and check terms, the terms indicate the new cancellation policy. hate when we get different experiences with Disney!

I've sent a detailed email off to Disney. I will see what kind of response I get and go from there I guess.

This was bothering me so I called again. Got a really great CM this time and explained my situation and quoted the Terms and Conditions on the website under my reservation. He talked to his supervisor and came back and told me the reservation was cancelled and will be credited to my account.:)

That was an hour ago but the reservation still shows on the site, hopefully they are just slow in updating.

That is great news!! Glad to see that Disney is adhearing to their own posted policy

UPDATE:

I emailed Disney....I finally got my response! :cool1:

Disney is refunding the original $59 too! Woohooooooooooo! :thumbsup2

So perhaps if you are having troubles getting refunded over the phone, it doesn't hurt to send an email too.

11 days and counting!!!!

How are you guys getting your BRP cancelled. I called and called and called and cannot get my cancelled. We have 2 sep reservations for YC and my DH just got a new job and cannot get off in Feb. We are going to lose $500+. I tried to get resort changed to All Stars or Pop or even one of the moderates so we lose less money but everytime I call I am told everything is booked and I will lose my deposits if I cancel. Does anyone have any suggestions? I sure hate to lose the $$ and we are going in Dec.

I can't get mine cancelled either. I have only called twice so far, but I am going to keep trying. Both times I read them the new terms and conditions directly off the website and they said that didn't matter since I booked under the old terms. Maybe I should ask to speak to a manager? This is really just bumming me out because our current reservation is one night at Animal Kingdom Lodge and 6 nights at Port Orleans Riverside. I just want to change it to 7 nights at POR. I think switching resorts will be too much for us, but apparently I am not going to be allowed!

Ask to speak to a manager or supervisor and quote them the Terms and Conditions on the website under your reservation.

For those of you who have been told that you can't cancel without penalty, what about calling and switching it from the BRP program to the AP discount code from Mousesavers. I think most of us have been able to do that without a problem. Once you've done that, then you're under a 6 day cancellation period, so just call and cancel then. A big hassle, but wondering if that would work for you.

What are the terms and conditions that people are reading to the CM's when they call?

For everyone having a hard time cancelling, keep calling!!!! I just got off the phone after my 4th try and was about to give up when I decided to call one more time. I called and I had the terms and conditions pulled up, ready to read them to the CM and ready to argue with a manager if necessary and all the CM said was "sure, I can cancel that for you." I am so happy! It did take me seven times before I got a CM willing to cancel, so just keep trying!

That's crazy.. No surprise that this BRP turned out to be a bust, but now they still want to penalize people for a program they couldn't run efficiently from day one?

I'd be calling every hour on the hour - and I'd be using their toll free number!
