We're heading to Orlando for Christmas. We arrive on Sat. evening Dec. 18th and plan to go to IoA on Sun. Dec. 19th. (I know it will be crazy busy- but we're teachers and don't have any other choice.) We are going solely to see WWoHP. We know the lines will be long and we will go prepared to wait. My kids don't care if we don't get into Olivanders, but DD wants to buy Hermione's wand. Since we'll be there the night before I thought we'd go to CityWalk. Is there a place there to buy wands so we don't have to wait in line in the park?

We're teachers too and will also be arriving on the 18th (looking forward to Mannheim Steamroller). We have 7 day tickets so we'll be popping in and out throughout the week. We did decide to go ahead and book one night onsite even though we have a house rented for the week. We'll actually be staying at the HRH on the 20th (couldn't get the RPH which we love for that date).

I don't know if you're flexible at all, but Priceline has HRH for the 19th for $249 (it can be canceled if you need to, and you can select a room with two queen beds). That would give you early entry to Harry Potter a hour before the park opens plus front of the line access with your room key for the rides, etc.

Also, if you happen to be going two days, you can actually check in VERY early and get TWO days of all of that even though you are only staying one night.

Just a thought in case you didn't know about it. :)

I know they sell HP stuff, but not sure if they sell the wands at the shop in Citywalk, since I haven't been in there since waaay before WWOHP opened. Inside IOA, they do sell wands at the large souvenir shop at the Port of Entry. Not sure if they have Hermoine's wand since I never stopped to look at them. Inside WWOHP, there is a cart outside between Filches shop and the Flight of the Hippogriff ride that also sells character wands. So if you're unable to squeeze into the owl post (you could still get in through the Dervish and Banges shop, but it's always super crowded)- you have that option.

When I went in October, the Universal store in Citywalk had wands for sale. They didn't have all of the ones they sell in the Wizarding World, but Hermione for sure.

I bought my Hermione wand in the Port of Entry gift shop that mdb78 mentioned. That is the place I really recommend buying as much stuff as you can.
