So frustrating.... I need 29 points to complete a reservation. I've borrowed all of the points I can and have tried the Rent/Trade Board but no transfers are available for a small amount.

I can buy 24 points from Disney but that still leaves me 5 short. Can I buy 5 points from Disney from my 2015 use year and borrow them or are there other ways to purchase points? Thanks for your help!

The one time use points can neither be banked or borrowed. You can see about booking an additional day thru MS on cash and it will be linked to your point reservation. Or you can rent a reservation for one or two nights from another member and get it linked to the reservation with your points. Or continue to look for a larger transfer. If that is what you would like you might have to be open to accepting more points than just the small amount you need.

You also could book a villa thru CRO and at check in see if you can stay in the same villa when you switch either to or from your point reservation.

Or - as DVC would prefer - do an add on of 29 points!

The only way to get more one time use points for one reservation would be IF that reservation crosses your use year...but the likelihood of needing one time use points for such a reservation is small, because it is also the one time you'd have up to 4 years worth of points to use...Banked (year 1), current use year(year two), current use year after your use year changes(year 3) and borrowed (year 4).

One could do an add on of 25 pts and borrow the rest from next years 25 or if UY worked out, bank this years 25 into the next UY for a trip in that UY. I agree with a cash room if the room type lends itself to that but it should because the one time points can only be used 7 months out. Keep looking for points to be transferred, someone who doesn't normally transfer but is willing to help you out might be willing to do even as little as the 4. Or possibly you could change your choices that might require less points such as staying off property the first night and arriving early AM, this works great for the DP many times. Or you could try a different resort, maybe a moderate for a night or 2 on cash to reduced your points needs otherwise. Lots of choices but not totally perfect for most in this situation.

Or if one has multiple master contracts and could link reservations.

Rather than trying to pay cash for more than 24 one-time-use points, look into booking one or more of your nights as a cash reservation. If you do it through Member Services, you might be able to get the 25% DVC member discount. (Availability is limited.) Member Services can also link the reservations, but if you're doing the dining plan that doesn't carry over between the points & cash nights. You might be able to find a better deal through an annual pass discount (or similar) by booking through CRO. You need to coordinate with the front desk to be able to stay in the same room, though, between reservations.

Thanks everyone... I had not thought about a cash reservation and will keep checking the boards. It's funny to be on the other end.... we sold a small contract a few years ago as we were not using the points and I was always renting them out. Last year we came with family and used banked, current and borrowed points and that is how we ended up in this situation. We have those discounted DVC PAP's that are calling us back :-)

We are staying offsite the first night as we don't arrive until late and would need two rooms. Nothing available at the value resorts and for 12 hours did not think it was worth the price of some of the others.
