Can you buy embroidered Mickey ears before getting to WDW?

Hi, Fellow DISers!

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for my question - it didn't quite seem to fit anywhere else!

I'd like to put together an exciting (well, it's exciting to me!) gift basket for my family to be waiting in our resort room when we arrive at WDW.

I wanted to include the new Pal Mickey, pressed penny and autograph books, personalized WDW T-shirts, balloons, name badges, personalized Mickey/Minnie ears, and a few miscellaneous other items.

Would it be possible to get the ears online somewhere? I can't find any!

And while I'm at it, how do you coordinate having a gift basket waiting in the room if you've created it yourself?

I want to avoid using the services of the WDW personal shoppers - I can't remember the name of the company right now - if possible...

Thanks for your help!

Sheila

I am probably not much help (hopefully someone else's help will be better) but, my sister called and ordered hat's with her DD's names on them. She had them delivered to their resort. When she checked in the rest of the family 'walked around' while my sis went to the room and put them on the bed with a note from Mickey (that she wrote) welcoming them to WDW. Then she went and found the rest of the family and they all found the room together as if it were the first time.
If I get myself together, I would like to do the same for my DS.

Hope this helps,
Kris

You could order them from Le Chapeau at MK by calling Disney Merchandising at 407.363.6200. It's been my recent experience that they will not deliver them to your resort. They only ship packages that you purchase in person to the resorts.

If you created the basket yourself, and wanted to ship it to the resort, I'd call your resort directly to determine how to make that happen. If you're staying at concierge level, I would imagine it would be much easier to coordinate.

Thank you so much! I'll try calling Le Chapeau! And that's a great idea about distracting the family! :flower:

I agree--you'll probably not be able to get the items into the resort ahead of time unless you are staying Concierge. Rooms are often not even assigned to guests until you walk up to the desk to check-in. If the room is ready for occupancy, you'll be given keys and can walk right up.

If you are staying at one of the Deluxe resorts, I'm sure you could stop by the front desk with the items and simply ask that a staff member deliver them to the room later in the day.

You could also use a service like Gifts of a Lifetime to deliver a prepared gift package. I know you didn't necessarily want to go that route, but it would prove to be one of the least hassle options.

Other than that, your best bet would be to try and slip away from the group while away from the room and set something up yourself. Order the items in advance...pack them away where nobody will see them...then as you're leaving the room to head to the bus stop / car / pool, make an excuse to run back to the room for 2 minutes to set up your goodies.

You can order all of the items you need from WDW merchandising at the number provided.
