Hi All,
We were originally going to arrive on January 4, departing January 24 and stay at The Poly.
Last night I got to thinking and made some changes, as I have always wanted to be at The Kingdom Of The Mouse for New Years. Of course I know that it will be a zoo and because we our youngest is 4, we thought that we should try The Contemporary and have the option of just walking back and forth to The Magic Kingdom.
So, we got ressies starting the 30th until Jan. 3rd and then will move to The Poly and stay until January 24th. We are bringing DS (14) along for the first two weeks and he will fly home on January 10, so he won't miss too much school. Everyone else in our party has annual passes and after exploring the ticket options for DS, it seems that it would be most economical to get him an annual pass as well.
We live in Canada and there is talk of a Postal Strike, so I don't want to order one over the phone and have them mail it to us, in case we don't get it before our departure. My question (and yes...there actually is one in this long winded post
) is can I buy him an annual pass at The Contemporary? I can imagine that the crowds will be wild and I was hoping we could pick it up at at The Contemporary front desk.
Also, we have always stayed at the G.F. and loved it. We were there for a month last February and could not get the Grand for the entire stay, so we stayed at The Poly for two weeks and really enjoyed it too (was SHOCKED to realize that any place could ever be in the same league as our beloved G.F.
). I loved the grounds and landscaping and the wonderful walks to The Tahiti building. I have NEVER wanted to stay at The Contemporary but well, it just seemed like a smart choice for a few days, while the crowds would be at capacity. We have a 12th floor room and I really wanted to have a Magic Kingdom view, for our 4 year old Princess. Realistically, arriving on the 30th, do we stand a chance? Is there anything that we can do to increase our odds? We are paying a fortune for these rooms and am really hoping that our little girl will have a wonderful view. Of course, we will not make a fuss if it doesn't pan out, but any tips would be much appreciated.
Thanks very much.
Percy
