Can you bring your own floatation device for the resort pool?

We'll be at BC and CBR and was wondering if there are any restrictions.

You can have noodles and life jackets and swimmies. Beach balls are good too. No rafts or tubes are allowed because the lifeguards would have a hard time seeing under them.

We spent 9 days at CBR in May & my kids used our inflatable 36 in. tubes from Target every day in the main pool. On our arrival day, before I had DH blow them up, I asked the lifeguards if they were allowed & one looked at me like I was crazy for even asking & replied, "Sure". So my answer is, "Yes, they are allowed". I've even got the pictures to prove it. (Maybe the rules have changed in the last 4 months, but I doubt it).

You can probably use them in the quiet pools where there are no life guards.

At the Poly themed pool the guards ask you to remove them immedietely. The Poly pool gets mobbed and the guards have a hard enough time seeing the bottom without a bunch of rafts and large rings. I doubt the rules have changed. It just sounds like the guards at the CBR aren't as strict as the ones at the Poly. We were there in July and the stuff was not allowed then nor for the last 4 years at the Poly.

I hope the Poly allows Swimmies.

Yes they do. DD wore them for years and many other kids have them on too. They just don't like things that might block their view of the bottom. I have seen them let those little infant holder type rings that have the canopy over it but only the smaller ones. Lat year a father had this huge infant thingie that had a large palm tree and looked like a tropical island! Not kidding it must have been 3 foot across! LOL! He was made to remove it. Another person has the smaller infant holder and was allowed to stay. I imagine it all depends on what the guards feel comfortable with but I have never seen a raft allowed ever.

You can rent tubes at BC - but they might be restricted to the lazy river portion of Stormalong Bay, as I never saw anyone use them in the other parts of the pools.

Those rental tubes at SAB are so big they are hard to use in the rest of the pool other than the lazy river. But there are no restrictions on where to use them. At SAB I was told that if we wanted to bring our own tube it had to be see-through.

Friends of ours borrowed a life jacket from the boat area, which is a very good idea if your kids are small and going down the slide. Parents have to stand behind a rope and there is a strong current. Our friend's son (age 7) was struggling a bit so getting the life jacket made things a lot easier.
