When we stayed at CBR and POR, people would bring their soft-sided coolers to the main pool area. They brought canned beer, sodas, bottled water. The CM's never bothered anyone doing this, unless the guests had glass bottles.

Next Janaury, we are staying at RPR for the first time. I was wondering about the pool etiquette there. I know they have a pool bar and servers who will come around and take your drink orders. But is bringing along your own small cooler bag with a few cans of beer frowned upon. Or is it okay?

Perhaps someone who has stayed at RPR could help me out here.

You are not allowed to bring coolers or your own beverages.
Saw them confiscate a cooler along with beer and other alcholic drinks from a group, and they removed them from the hotel as well, think there was an argument when security got called as they refused to give up there drink, so where removed from the property.
They seemed to keep a watch for people bringing there own drinks.

Also outside food. Last year we had pizza delivered and decided to sit by the RPR pool and eat. Someone came up to us and told us that wasn't allowed :confused3.

If you read some of the trip reports there is one that has pictures of RPR and they have the small soft sided cooler, but with soda only. They even mentioned having their favorite soft drinks at the pool. Don't know if maybe that makes any difference, if it is non-alcoholic.

You are definetly not allowed your own cooler wether its soft drinks or not.
If you want to eat and drink at the pool you have to buy it.
I am sure the waiters around the pool deck area ,watch for people with their own and then report it to the manager, as if everyone did this, then there would be no point having them there, plus it effects there tips.

I recently called and rented a cabana at the HRH and was told we were not allowed to bring a cooler or our own food. The reasoning is the pool area is an extension of the pool bar. I'm assuming it is the same at RPR.

Yeah - I saw that trip report too, so figured bringing outside food/beverage was ok. Guess not.

Can you bring water bottles?

Can you bring water bottles?

I just called the RPR and asked and was told yes you can bring water bottles. Did I get it in writing...nope :rotfl2: but if I bring a water bottle or two down and they ask me to drink it up and throw it away...no problem.

They have iced water containers with cups around the pool. DW usually just get the waiters to bring her a cup of iced water from the bar, so why bring your own.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for checking on this. We're headed to RPR tomorrow morning & will be hitting the pool (with water bottle in hand) when we get there.

Good to know about the iced water containers around the pool too.

We just got back and I brought our own drinks everyday to the pool---in cans, Pepsi, juice in packets for my son and bottles of water...in a Walmart bag. Plus I brought potato chips and Doritos....nobody ever said a thing to me :confused3 I also saw a family in front of us eating sandwiches that they brought in and cheese curls.

I did see a sign that said you werent allowed glass bottles though.

BTW, the beverages were warm within 1/2 hour...so really it's not worth it unless you have a cooler and I didnt see anybody with one of those.

We also purchased food from the servers and they did get to know us after being in the same chairs for 7 days :lmao: so maybe thats why they didnt say anything?

We just got back from June 21-16 trip at Royal Pacific. We took our own drinks/snacks in tote bag. Of course they were hot after a while, wish we had a little soft sided cooler. We saw all kinds of people with their own coolers at the pool with no problem.

We took cold drinks (soda, bottled water) to the pool with us at the RPR. No one ever said anything to us and they were in plain view. In fact, several times the wait staff dropped by to see if we needed anything.

i have taken drinks and sat at the pool chairs before at RPH.

even when the wait staff asked if i needed anything, nothing was said about my own beverages i had with me.

i am aware no glass containers are allowed at the pool or taken into the parks.

I was reluctant to spend $3.00 for a soda, so I brought my own with me- they got warm so fast that I broke down and ordereda diet coke from the bar because I wanted something cold- to my surprise they offered free refills and brought me a total of 3 ice cold drinks for the one price, so it turned out to be a pretty decent deal. :) I also brought chips with us and nobody said a word about our Fritos. :goodvibes

3 day stay last week- brought my own beverages and ordered some food. No one said a word. I asked for a cup of ice and they brought me a bucket!
