Can you believe they raised the prices again today?

Lets watch them BOTH price themselves out of the park. I have an AP, but this is ridiculous.

The prices went up on Tuesday actually... and it has been a nightmare learning new ticket prices.

Luckily the only 2 tickets that went up that extra dollar were the 1 day 1 park ($89 + tax) and the 1 day 2 parks ($124 + tax). Multiple day tickets stayed the same and annual passes never increased in price.

This is ridiculous. I guess they'll raise it more when Despicable Me opens... :rolleyes1

This when it's nice to be a AP holder. :thumbsup2

I love Universal but it's going to take some major budgeting next time we go after this summer! Glad that after our last trip in 2008 we came home and bought 5 more of the 7 day $99 tickets. Luckily with the $99 tickets we were able to "splurge" on a deluxe room for August!

The $1.00 increase was only because when Disney raised their ticket prices a few days ago, they were $1.00 more expensive than Universal. No other reason.

who knew theme parks were into chest puffing contests re costing the most to vist on a daily basis.:confused3

Lol, I guess their insider info wasn't very good.

Hard to believe that was only four years ago. . . $160 now. Just a 38% price increase, slightly higher than the inflation rate. And with three fewer days on the ticket.

disney upped the prices on all tickets.
this included one day tickets to multiday tickets to AP's, hoppers, non expiration tickets, etc.

universal's new increase only affects the one day tickets.
i don't see that as a bad thing.

a $1 increase isn't horrible.
a $5 increase would be.

I was worried when I saw the thread title. I guess that I can handle a one dollar increase though. Whew!

The 1-day, 1-park gate price is $89. It's still $88 online, before taxes and fees are added.

You would think (or I would) that they would want to KEEP it just a bit lower.

What! I just checked that price last night! Grrr! LOL.

Honestly, I don't think $1 is worth the marketing coup they could get saying "we are cheaper than Disney for a day.".

If you figure a large majority of current guests are doing 1day tickets to see the WWOHP (Based off ancedotal evidence which says people are going to WWOHP but not checking out Universal Studios), Then that $1 per 1 day ticket quickly adds up when you are talking hundreds or thousands of guests daily.

Prices are still the same online. It is just the gate prices that changed. They are still $1 cheaper for a one day ticket if you purchase online.

Phew!
Although we might end up getting the costco one instead if we can manage it.

What do you think the chances are that the prices for APs will go up? We are going for HHN this year and I got an AP rate at HRH. I'm thinking that I should probably get my AP now before things go up....
