She just turned 8 yrs. old.. Our last trip to Disney World was just before she turned 3..

She's home from school sick today and we've been talking about our Christmas trip to Disney World on December 2nd..

She wanted me to ask all of you if you believe that Mickey Mouse is "real" - or "just a guy in a costume"..

Soooooo.. Could you all answer this question for her?

I don't know about you, but I've never seen any "zippers" or anything to indicate that Mickey WASN'T real.. ;)

She's waiting for your relpies - so help us out here!! :goodvibes

Oh, yes, I do believe he's real. I've held his hand, so I know for sure. He feels very real.

You bet he's real! I have had my picture taken with him, and I am one of his biggest fans. He is definitely real! ::MickeyMo

Mickey Mouse is most definitely real. :goodvibes

I believe Mickey Mouse is real. I was outraged when my then 10 year old niece said they were "weird people in costumes" last year
Funny, my neice and your DGD are the only people I've heard of seeing their zippers. :rotfl:

Absolutely Mickey is real. I've met him many times. :teeth: In fact, he and Minnie are the only mice I like to see running around.

Whoops. I thought the OP was asking one of those wwyd questions. Sorry.

Real, of course!!

Just ask my DD12!!

BTW....get well quick before your trip next week!!!! :goodvibes

Since most 8 year olds are aware that MM is a cartoon character, she might get teased mercilessly if she repeats that he is "real" to other kids, so I'd tell her the truth.

They grow up too dang fast.[/

In white.
You know, I agree, but it sounds like the OP wishes to keep the magic alive for her granddaughter, so I was playing along. Maybe you could put your message in white and only OP would know to highlight and read. Or not...just a suggestion.

Not nice to rain on a little girl's parade.. :sad2:

heehee very real....but I have seen him in costume. At halloween. And my favorite white tux costume for the holidays.

Sometimes you have to believe your heart more than your mind.

All the characters are very real. I have the pictures and the autographs to prove it!!

Is this really necessary? :( Maybe you would like to post on this thread that she is GOING to read that "Santa" isn't real either.. Why the rush for little kids to grow up?

Well, some people don't believe in Santa either, but that doesn't mean he's not real. I know he is- he brings me a present every year, and leaves a note in my stocking.

Hillbeans doesn't think that Mickey is real- that doesn't mean he isn't.
