can you add package deal to room only reservation?

Hello! I am excited about the new codes! but I don't have much money saved for my vacation in Feb. (planning to use my tax return) Can I call for the special code for room only reservation, then add the silver package later or while I arrive at the resort? Will they give my the discount on the package if I had a discount on room only reservations, or will they take away the discount if I want to change. Also how much do I have to pay upfront on the package deals if I am going in Feb. ? Thanks!

You are excited about your trip aren't you? I know how you feel..I get the same way when it gets close to my trip time too. Let's see what I can answer for you:

Can I call for the special code for room only reservation, then add the silver package later or while I arrive at the resort? I would say you can call to do a code for room only. Can you add a silver package later, I don't think so, because of how they put it together. You may have to cancel your room only ressie and then book a package. Those are two separate ressies on most sites when booking for Disney, so I don't think you can combine them per se. Please if I'm wrong...another DISer help me out here.

Also how much do I have to pay upfront on the package deals if I am going in Feb. Package deals require a $200 deposit and paid in full before trip. Room only ressies require a one night's deposit and you can pay in full once you arrive on the resort.

I believed I answered this question with your first question. You'll have to book a package or a room only ressie. I believe with a room only ressie, you can do something called an add on. Another DISer will have to help with that one.

Maybe I should book the room only reservation, then when I get my money, then try for package deal. But I think I read on this site that you only have a certain time frame to book it for the special codes . I hope not, that would be a bummer!

That is true. There is a time limit on booking codes, so just keep an eye out. Like I answered in another thread of yours, maybe you'll come out better just doing it all separately.
