Just curious to know if you are a DVC owner if you can add the DDP to your trip? Thinking of buying in but don't love to cook and LOVE picking our meals for our trips to WDW. Thanks All! :)

Yes, but you pay full price for it (except the peak surcharge).

You have to add it for all the guests in your party and for the entire length of stay. You'll have to add it at least 48 hours ahead of your reservation start.

DVC participating in the DDP is a perk that could go away or the policy could change.

In fact the only thing that can't change is your right to book a resort room at your home resort.

As long as you don't wait too long to reserve it.

Remember that you do not need to be on the DDP to make your dining reservations. You can even make those if you are staying off-site. We find the DDP too expensive for us. We buy the TIW card instead and save several hundred dollars over buying the DDP.

You can add DDP, but do the math before you do....

Cost is around $52 per adult. If you paid cash on your own, figure $4 for the snack, and around $12 for lunch. That means that you'd have to order a dinner that is $36 to break even. Pretty much every restaurant that I've seen with entrees in the high $30's low $40's require 2 dining credits.

Perhaps I'm glossing over the fact that you get dessert included, kids are cheaper etc.... just sayin' it seems like you could put the cost of the DDP on a pre-paid visa, eat whatever you want all week, and I bet you'd have money left over on the card.

I just booked the dining plan for 45.99/ adult. All of the places I was looking would be at least 30$ per adult entree plus a 2-3$ beverage plus a $6 or so dessert. That brings you up to around 40$ plus a $4snack and a counter service meal that (if you work it well) can be around 12-15$ with drink and dessert..so doing that math, its a no brainer to us. Its definitely not a good value if you do 2 credit meals or use your sit down credits for breakfast or lunch...just sayin;)

As noted, the current answer is yes. However, there is no guarantee that option will remain or that the price/options will be workable for you. I would not buy unless you're prepared for DVC without the DDP option.

Just to point out: You don't need the DDP in order to eat at Disney restaurants or plan meals or make dining reservations. As has been pointed out, DDP may not even save you any money. We found that it definately limits choice and forces us to buy too many snacks and desserts that we often don't even want or need.

The problem is, many people wouldn't buy a beverage and dessert at every single meal. I drink a lot of water. No need for 100 oz of soda a day. Also, not only are the lunch desserts excessive as well, they are really bad quality and we never ate them for the most part. My 11 year old hardly needs or wants a $30 entree at every dinner either, nor do we eat at a character buffet every night. So, the mistake (in my opinion) is adding up the menu price of all the stuff you order on the dining plan in order to caluculate value when instead you should look at what you would honestly order and pay for if you were paying normally every meal. How many people spend the last day of their stay trying to find ways to use up all their snack credits? That should tell you something. It is stuff they didn't need and wouldn't have paid for.

agreed that it is not a good value for young "disney adults":) I don't eat the dessert at lunch except the yummy ones at sunshine seasons. If you ask for fruit instead they are happy to oblige and they will also do bottled water instead of soda. When I look at the menues and see what I would order, I always come out ahead in terms of price..but thats just me. Doesn't work for everyone. We still have 2 disney kids (for a few years at least)
