Well actually 2 :guilty:

I recently started selling and have my first of probably many problems.

1st- AN item that sold this morning, literally broke as I was packing, but it hasn't been paid for yet? What do I do? I sent an email to buyer but what are my responsibilites after that?

2- An item that ended 3 days ago for over $200.00 is still not paid. The buyer has asked 3 times for inovices and I have complied all times. She has excellent feedback, but I am afraid she is having buyers remorse. She indicated she was using paypal, but so far nothing. Is it too soon to send her an email?

3- ok I lied... hehehe I won a pair of shoes for DD listed as like new "excellent condition" but I got them and they had paint splatter on them!! Not too bad, but it was not disclosed and I feel mislead. I sent an email and she offered a refund after I return, but who sould pay $7.00 for shipping?

Thats all (for now anyway)

TIA

Laura

Did you send a fund request through Paypal or eBay? If the buyer prefers Paypal, she may be specifically waiting for a request for funds through Paypal so all she has to do is click a button and it's paid.

You have no further responsibilities after notifying the buyer and returning / refunding (Paypal has an option for refunding) the payment.

The buyer has the right to buy it anyway as-is but probably won't.

Occasionally spam filters on the recipient's email account may prevent your emails from getting through, and there is no easy way to find out. Even if you use the eBay "send invoice" and "reply to buyer's question" the email has your address on it and may still be filtered.

If you have a friend with a different Internet Service Provider (the part of his email address after the at sign is different) try sending an email from there. In this email specifically say you suspect your email is being rejected as spam and ask them to turn off their spam filter.

If an actual case described above happened, the seller should pay the shipping both ways, at least morally that is.

My updates-

1.) Buyer ok when told of broken items

2.) Buyer cannot pay via bank transfer due to maintenance problems w/ Paypal! Wants to backout.

3.) Offered a full refund but not return shipping!

OK, let me ask about the buyer backing out. It really does appear that paypal is not allowing back transfers at this time as I have tried to do some myself, but she still can pay echeck which she feels takes to long, and she does not "like" to use cc. However, I contacted the second bidder and they really want it. SO what do I do? Do I relieve bidder #1 and suck up the fees or what? Can I sell to #2 I am so confused. Please help!!!

You can make a 'second chance offer' to the other interested buyer. This will make it an 'official' ebay transaction.

Now as for the other buyer backing out. If you are feeling nice, you can file an UPI (unpaid item) dispute that you mutually agreed not to complete the transaction. You will get your fees back and the buyer will not receive an unpaid item strike (three and you get kicked off ebay).

If you NOT feeling nice, you can file a regular UPI dispute - you will get you fees back if the buyer does not complete the transaction and they will get a strike against them.
