Can xbox be used in resort rooms?

My 14 year old son wants to bring his xbox 360 to disney. Can he use xbox live from the resort room? Has anyone done this?

There is wifi in the room but the speeds tend to be pretty slow so his xbox live might lag a lot. Also some hotels block the connections on the tvs. I've never tried to connect to a Disney tv so I can't say for sure either way for them but many hotels I've stayed in had the connections blocked and/or had a sign asking that electronics not be connected. HTH

The TV's have a panel with the connections required, but xbox live will most likely not work due to the speed. I totally understand bringing something to occupy the time while everyone gets ready to go out for the day.

Maybe look up the hotel you are staying at. Most resorts threads have room pictures and detailed info about the rooms. Maybe you can find out if the tv's have HDMI hookups. Or as least old composite hookups. You could always call the resort and ask.

I have a just turned 15 yo. who loves his xbox. He is an easy going kid and is fine to go without. But during down time at Disney his nose is buried in his iPod playing games and such.

Whatever makes the trip work best for your family is what you should do.

Unfortunately, when you call the number listed for any of the Disney resorts, you actually get connected to a call center in another state. The person there is not likely to have reliable details on the TV hookups.

Most of the rooms have LG Flat panels. I do believe at Pop ours had an extra HDMI port. Composite, not so sure. I do remember my husband commenting on the HDMI though.

I wouldn't count on the wifi. It's not fast or reliable enough.

Also, some airport security can be pains about taking consoles (we know from experience). We've had to take them out (because I'm not putting them in checked lugagge) and turn them on for them. It can take a little time.

If he has a handheld, I'd recommend bringing that instead. Both my husband and I always do. No plugs needed! We'll be battling each other in Smash Brothers our whole flight. Going to whomp him good!

our TV at the Poly had composite on the side to hook up our Xbox too.
