Can we use 2 magic bands during our trip?

We have a 1 night room only and then the rest of trip at a different resort. So we can customize 2 sets of bands. Can we use both sets throughout our entire trip? Trying to decided if we should customize or decline the ones for our one night stay. Thanks

As long as all bands are linked you can use any bands you have. Match them to your outfit, change in-between park hopping, whatever you want to do.

Sure. MagicBands only access info on your MDX account. Nothing is “on” an individual MB.

Really a personal preference if you’d like two sets or you’re fine with one. Some like to have different colors, or backups just in case.

Ok, thanks! We had trouble trying to use more than one color of the old bands. Rooms wouldn't unlock and such. They had to take one band for each person to get to work and unactive all of the others. They looked at me like I was crazy at the Contemporary when I wasn't happy having to pick one color. LoL They wanted to know which one was picked for that trip and I really wasn't sure about mine.

You could use 10 throughout your stay.
They are interchangeable.

We received two sets of bands for our last trip, and I took along the second set as a spare.

It saved us making a couple of trips to Guest Services, because sure enough two of the grandkids lost their bands along the way. I just pulled out the spares from the backpack and we kept going without interruption.

We have 2 sets from last year and will get another this year. I liked having 2 last year, because I would always have one in the backpack, then wear the other. If we forgot to put it on, we had the one in the backpack as a back-up.

Front desk staff likes to pretend it’s our fault that their system is glitchy.

They take some idea as their voodoo du jour, mess with the account in some way, things change, and they think that’s the solution. They are doing some equivalent to turning it off then on, IMO.

And the rooms not unlocking...I’m pretty convinced that that’s a door lock battery issue, not the fault of the bands.

Well the only thing that is on a MB is if you play that can d game at the MK. SOTMK you will need to use the same band for the whole game. ( unless something has changed in the last 6 or so month.

That still is not “on” the MB.
(The MB’s have no way to “accept” or store incoming information.)
The game simply “connects” to the RFID number that is transmitted by the MB.
The game looks for that same transmitted number if a guest continues to play the game.

What happened to you is just an example of what some CM(s) tried as a workaround for a problem (or six) with a glitchy WDW computer system.
