Can we talk about new Soarin? *spoilers*

We were very disappointed in the new film. We sat in the left section (if you are facing the screen) in the first row and everything was bent. I couldn't get past the CGI either.

DH used to hide golf balls and oranges in his pockets so he could pick an orange and give it to one of our DD's and "catch" the golf ball for the other. Those days are gone now.

Soarin is no longer a must do for us.

We rode it twice, nearly back to back. The first time it was pre-Park opening and the CM was seating all parties on the front rows of each section. We asked if we could sit in the middle, having heard there were issues with distortion on the sides. The film was great, not the original, but still very good; great scenes, smells, etc. We rode it again about 10 minutes later and were seated mid row, to the right and the distortion was terrible, to the point it was distracting and the experience was not enjoyable, having just seen it in the "perfect" location.

I wonder how many times people are asking CM if they can move or wait for the center section.

I just hope they got rid of all the spots on the screen...I assume from old film or something. Really distracted me

I love the new film, but then again, I am in the minority and was never a fan of the original. We rode twice in August, and I noticed the warping our second time around because I was on the right hand side. Sitting in the middle it wasn't as noticeable.

We were never on the original Soarin' but went on the new one this last trip and I did notice the warping effect at the top of the screen. We were at the top left. It did take away from some of the effect that's for sure.

We won't be on it when we go back in August - my husband is afraid of heights and my kids hated it. lol
