Can we swim??

Busy overplanning and I have a question for you CA people...is it warm enough to swim right now? We are coming 3/31 to 4/4 and currently have a ressie at Embassy suites. I was thinking of changing to Desert Inn and suites for the indoor pool if it's gonna be too cool to swim outside. Any other hotels nearby with an indoor pool??

I would say it's a little chilly outside still to swim, but if it's a heated pool, it might not be too bad. Chilly is all relative.

Well you don't want to ask the Californians that question! You want to ask the fellow Bostonians.

Seriously, it took me a year to get used to WA weather when I left CA at 17, LOL... My SIL lives in San Diego and requires that her pool be set over 80 degrees for her to feel comfy swimming...meanwhile my WA-born son jumps in at whatever my brother normally sets it at (he swims for fitness so gets warm on his own while swimming and doesn't want it warmed up much).

So assuming the pool is heated, the only issue might be is how cold you'll be when getting out of the pool, but then, that's a momentary cold, easily taken care of by having close-by towels and cover-ups and socks and such.

I'm a wimp....it would be too cold for unless we are talking close to 80 degrees.

I don't know where you are from or what the CA people think but we just returned from our Disneyland trip and for us (from British Columbia, Canada) it was definitely warm enough to swim. There were lots of people making use of the outdoor pool and waterpark at the HOJO where we were staying. Our last day there we were barely able to eat our ice cream fast enough to keep it from melting all over the place ... it was great!!

I am from Boston. We have had a terrible winter and I was really looking forward to the pool and the sun! I was in San Diego this time last year, and I was able to swim no problem....but I have been looking at the weather online...it just seems a bit cooler this year.

Thank you all for the replies. I cannot wait til next week...I will post a trip report when I get home.

Weather is variable here and today it is hot and tomorrow is cool. It also depends on the location such as protection from wind and if the pool is heated. Today would be a great day to go for a swim\ but next week who knows with our silly weather.
