Hello & Happy Holidays,

Greetings from Philadelphia! I am in town till Jan 01, and was wondering if it is still possible to plan a 3-4night trip to Disneyworld. I wanted to visit with my friend. We can fly out of Philadelphia, or the New York area airports.

Do you think there may still be reasonable deals on airfare and accomdation? We are comfortable staying in a decent, safe chain hotel e.g. Quality Inn, Days Inn, or higher rated.

Will the parks be extremely overcrowded?

Any suggestions on whether it still possible to plan a trip?

Thanks,

Welcome to the DIS boards!! :wave2:

I think that almost any Disney vacation is possible with a little pixie dust (and some research). I'm not sure how much the airfares would be, but I'm sure you could find a fairly reasonable deal through one of the many online travel sites. You can find some pretty good deals for non-Disney hotels online, too (even for this time of year). As far as crowds go.......I've read that the crowd levels are quite high from Christmas to New Year's. However, even though there will be long lines for the rides, you won't have to worry about suffering in the blazing heat like you would in the summer time! :thumbsup2 If you don't mind braving the crowds and paying the higher airfare/hotel prices, go for it! :)

I just saw a thread where someone posted recent pictures of WDW crowds. Here's the link:

Apparently, saying that the crowd levels are "quite high" during Christmas/New Year's week is an understatement.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. It seems like the crowds will be too much :( oh well.

I was unable to view the photos showing the crowds this past week, can anyone share these photos?

Thanks so much & Happy Holidays

I don't know what happened. I can't see the pictures either! :confused3 Oh, well. Here's another set of crowd pictures. The first one is just plain scary :

I think you are very wise to not go to WDW during this time. I don't know how anyone can put up with crowds like that. I hope you'll have another opportunity to go to WDW soon. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! :santa:
