Can we squeak in under the deadline?

The new photography policy that will be in effect for contracts starting in October has got me thinking... :scratchin

How long does it take to finalize a contract from the point of the very first contact you have with DFTW? Is it even possible to have the deal done in time to fit in before the deadline at the end of the month??

Thank you!! :goodvibes

If you know everything you want it's probably possible to do a contract that fast, but you'd better call today and start the process! It does take a little bit of time for them to reserve the locations, prepare the contract and send it to you.

The newish policy that prevents you from using a non-Disney photographer or videographer at in-park weddings. Weddings anywhere else on property can still use outside photo/video.

Wazzo, I say go for it! :thumbsup2

Thanks Lurkyloo! 'Member you were going to be my "Oh-Fish-All Well-wishing Go-to- and Advice-Giving Gal"!! :flower3:

I do know everything we want... ;)

Do you have to know an exact date for the contract? We don't really care about the exact day, and were hoping to work around our vendor availability etc.

If you do need an exact date, is it possible to change after the inital contract is finished?

You need an exact date to sign a contract, but if you need to change it later you just sign an addendum. We moved our wedding forward by 2 weeks AFTER the save the dates went out :scared:

I would just be clear with them that if you do need to change the date, they will honor the policies in place at the time you signed the first contract. Also, double-check your contract when you get it b/c they've already put the part about outside photographers on some people's contracts even though the deadline hasn't passed yet.

Ooh, if that is in the contract, then there may not be time to change it before the deadline! Are changes made through the mail?

No, they can be made through email and fax. All your Wedding Consultant has to do is change the wording in the MS Word file and re-email it to you. :goodvibes

Alright! I guess we should start deciding pretty darn soon!

Oh, and Carrie... do you get the digital rights to all your photos with the Roots?

How about both simultaneously? :rotfl: With any photographer, you have to know if you can afford them before you book them, but since most are willing to work with you to find a package that fits your budget, you may want to know if they're even available on your date first! ...it's like the chicken and the egg...

I'm wondering if this sounds stupid, but do you think you can sound a contract now, but then be like "whoops we want to change to December" to get the photographers allowed?
