Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while and I must say...You guys are awesome! If I hadn't found these boards I would have had no clue that I needed to do so much pre-trip planning and would have rolled into Disney World without a single ADR and no schedule in mind.

Now for my question (the first of many I'm sure)- I have a 5:05pm ADR at Biergarten for dinner. My plan is to eat, then high tail it to MK for Spectromagic and Wishes at 8pm. Is it doable and what would be the quickest way to get from EPCOT to MK?

I thik it's completely doable if you take the monorail. Your biggest problem will be finding a place to actually see the parade. that parade fills up...people get there hours before and camp out. but I would try.

Personally, I think you would be hard pushed. The easiest way would be to exit Epcot through the International gateway and head to Boardwalk Inn or Beach Club to catch a bus to MK - not necessarily the quickest though as busses are not always reliable and you could wait for up to 30 minutes.

The alternative would be to head to the front of the park and catch the monorail to MK, but you still have to change at the TTC (I believe).

Even if you get lucky, bearing in mind you are likely to be at Biergarten for at least an hour or so and then allowing for travelling time, you would be lucky to make it to the entrance of MK much before 7.30. By that time, all the spots along main street for watching the parade are likely to be taken.

On the plus side, you should be OK for Wishes. Edited - just re-read your original post - is Wishes starting at 8pm? Or is Spectro at 8? If Spectro is at 8 and Wishes at 9, you should be in plenty of time for Wishes but possibly hard pushed to find a decent spot to watch Spectro.

The quickest way to get to MK would be to drive.
If you are using Disney Transportation, the monorail will take you to the TTC where you transfer to the MK monorail.

The quickest way? Not sure. You could walk out the front gate and take the monorail - but then you would have to switch monorails at TTC. You could walk out the International Gateway and take a bus to MK from the Beach Club - that would be maybe a little faster than walking all the way to the monorail station, but maybe not. Germany is not really close to IG. Then you might have to wait for the bus. I'd be guessing these two methods would take about the same amount of time barring anything crazy happening (monorail breakdown, extra long bus wait, etc)

I think it's probably doable, especially if you rush through dinner (there's also the possibility you might have to wait to be seated for dinner), but you would not have a good shot at a "prime" parade viewing location.

Thanks for the advice. I knew we would be cutting it close for Spectromagic at 8pm. Wishes doesn't start until 9pm so as long as we're good for that I'm satisfied.

Personally, I think 3 hours is plenty of time. If you take 90 minutes for dinner, you still have 85 minutes to get to MK. In my experience during Mid to late May, right up to Parade time you can get a spot on the porch at Tony's or you could go to Liberty Square or Frontier Land to watch Spectro.

Totally doable, as long as you are seated close to your adr time. If you make it to MK with enough extra time, you may want to make your way towards liberty square. its not often as crowded toward that area (and Fronteirland as PP mentioned) once the parade is over you can make your way back to the hub, i always opt to stand near Crystal Palace, and im able to see everything without being too crowded.

As for the fastest way there, im not sure, we did epcot to MK by monorail last time and i think the entire trip took 30-40 minutes (that included getting into MK)

Only if your driving and you get seated on time. I would show up for dinner at least 20 mins ahead of time.

We often take a cab when trying to do the tight fit thing. Have a cab drop you off at the Contemporary, not the TTC and walk - it will be faster. You could catch a cab from the Y&BC (I think that's closer than the BW) or from the front of Epcot, I'm not sure which would be faster to walk to.

I second the getting to your ADR early. Biergarten often takes a bit to seat you.

Should have no problem making MK by 8pm. I would show up a couple of minutes early for dinner. You are dining at a buffet, therefore server speed is not an issue. You should be able to get onto the Monorail by 7pm, easily. The trip to MK, even with transfer @ TTC, should take no more than 45 mins, probably less. One other option is taking a bus from EPCOT to Contemporary and taking the 10 minute walk to MK. Probably not as fast as monorail, but certainly quicker than walking to Boardwalk for a bus.
