Can we get the DDE 20% discount at CRT?

I just made a search and read 2 recent threads with conflicting information, so I called Disney Dining and asked to apply my DDE discount to my current CRT dinner reservation (or else cancel current ADR and then re-book getting the discount.....). The CM said there are no discounts at CRT. Yet I read on another thread that as recent as 3/29/07 somebody got the discount applied. So should I call Disney back and talk to somebody different? Does anyone know for sure if CRT takes the DDE? I'll do some more research now and see what else I can find. In the meantime, if anybody has any answers/comments, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

We got the discount for our upcoming trip. I made our reservations in the begining of January and had no problem. We also used it there in November.

I also just checked the list of participation locations from when we first got our DDE card and CRT is definitely on it.

I would call back and try again! Good Luck!

I just checked Disney's website for DDE and here's the list for the parks:
Epcot® – L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Restaurant, Chefs de France, Nine Dragons Restaurant, San Angel Inn Restaurante, Bistro de Paris Restaurant, Le Cellier Steakhouse, Biergarten Restaurant, Restaurant Marrakesh, Restaurant Akershus, Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room, The Garden Grill, Coral Reef Restaurant
Disney-MGM Studios – Hollywood & Vine, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Tune-In Lounge, Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, The Hollywood Brown Derby
Magic Kingdom® Park – The Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table, Liberty Tree Tavern, The Plaza Restaurant, Tony's Town Square Restaurant
Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park – Tusker House Restaurant, Pizzafari, Flame Tree Barbeque, Restaurantosaurus

So I think you should get a discount. Keep us updated on what Disney says because I'm hoping to go in August and would use my DDE card.

i've heard mixed results with DDE and CRT. you can try calling back and speaking to another CM who may go ahead and do it (if they say no, ask them to check with their supervisor).

worst case, the restaurant can adjust this.

and my goodness, you reminded me how i totally forgot that i just bought into DDE and booked CRT and didn't even mention it to the CM! argh.. thanks!

I just made CRT dinner ressies today and prepaid with the DDE discount, so yes, you should receive the discount. :)

yes, i just called back. i was put on hold for several minutes, but was told i was issued a credit in the amount of $23 something, which I haven't done the math, but hey, it's something.

From what I was told, you only get the discount on the portion of the price they assign to the food/drink. So with a picture package included, for example, they subtract the "value" of that and then give you the discount on the remaining portion. For our group of 2A and 2C, I think it came out to about 10% of the total rather than the 20% you get elsewhere.

Well I called back and was told there are no possible discounts at CRT. So I hung up, read all of your replies, and decided to call back again. This time I was given a credit with no questions asked. So thanks for all of your replies and I'm so glad to get a break as it's pretty expensive to eat there!

i just did a little math and that makes sense. allearsnet says the photo package is valued at 29.95. it was definitely more than 10% for me (3A, 1C) but less than 20.

We were originally charged $96.34 for 2 adults & 2 infants. I was just given a credit of $13.20 for the DDE discount. So that's approximately 14% less. That makes sense about only giving the discount for the food portion. Thanks again all!

That's good to hear! Now if only all the CM's knew the DDE card could be used at CRT.

I believe you use the card at CRT, not when it is booked. When it is booked, you are leaving a cc for a guarnatee/deposit but you will pay for the meal after you have eaten. Let your server know you have the DDE card, and present it at the end of the meal.

Hi Jodi,

Just to clarify.....When I booked today, I was told that I would have to prepay & my credit card was charged for to total bill minus the DDE discount.

yes, CRT is paid for in full at time of booking (unless on the DDP). it's handled like a dinner show.
