Can we buy magic bands in the parks?

Here now and after one day in the parks we're kind of regretting not getting magic bands (we're staying offsite so didn't automatically get them). This is our first trip since magic bands were implemented and I didn't have a lot of time to research before we came. Is there somewhere we can buy the bands in the parks and have our tickets and fastpass + reservations loaded onto them? I'm thinking probably guest relations but wasn't sure. Can this be done?

Many merchandise locations in the parks that do exactly this.

Point of fact, there is nothing loaded onto the MBs as you mean--the band is linked to your MDX account on secure servers and accesses the data through them.

Of course.

Every park has multiple stores selling magic bands. Go in and you'll find magic bands on the walls and can pick out which ones you want. They have plain solid ones for $12.95, ones with designs for 19.95, and then limited edition ones for $24.95 I believe. Look on the back of the box and you'll see something like ((A)) or ((B)), this will tell you how much it is.

When you buy you can have the cashier link it to your account. Or you can choose to link it later. You simply go on MDE, click My Profile, then Magic Bands and Cards, and then add magic band. You'll enter a unique code that's on the underside of the band and then it's linked. No need to go to guest service.

And the magic band stores nothing. All your info and FP's and everything is on MDE. The magic band is essentially just a key unlocking it. So if you have more than one MB, you can use them whenever you want as long as their linked to your MDE

Good deal. Thanks so much for the replies. I think we're going to stop off and get the bands when we get into Epcot today. Yesterday was our first day in a park and I'm already tired of digging out my plastic ticket for fastpasses. Kind of worried that DD is going to lose hers too. I'm thinking the bands will be easier and give me some peace of mind.

And thanks for the clarification on how the magic bands work. Just hadn't wrapped my head around that one yet.

In Epcot, I'm sure MouseGear will have them at least and probably a number of others.

I have seen them in several of the stores. I plan on getting one of the limited edition ones!

Yup, we just did this saturday with no hassle at all. We bought ours in one of the little stores in Frontier Land, but saw them in just about every shop in the MK, including all the colors and the little clip decorations too.
