Yes, I just got back from WDW a week ago. It will be at least a couple years before I go back. But while I'm feeling sorry for myself that I'm still not there, :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:I'm wondering about my next trip. My two DD's and I would like to do two weeks again, DH not. But my mom would like to come. She only wants to stay a week. Say I book a two week trip at French Quarter through Disneyworld.com for one adult (me) and my two DD's. But I'd tell them over the phone that my mom will be coming for a week, and my DH would arrive after she left for the last week. Can that be done? Or is there a way to make reservations for two extra adults on the same reservation that will be there at different times?

I have no doubt that it's easily doable. I don't see why the exact secondary adult name on the reservation matters. I would just put the ressie under your name, and list one other adult as staying- it doesn't matter which one. They don't check IDs or anything. I'd list the name of the adult who would be there during the first half of the trip. He'll need separate tickets, though.

Your mother can hand off her Magic Band to your husband midway through the trip, so he'll keep using the same tickets, FPs, etc., as she would have done if she had been staying. I wouldn't bother explaining this to Disney.
Mom's fingerscan would not match the husband's. He would not be able to use the remaining days on her ticket.

Split stay. Do the first week with you, the kids and your mom. Do the second week with your husband, the kids and yourself. Book the same type of room and ask the front desk if they can keep you in the same room for the whole stay when you check in.

Just another suggestion to the OP - if you're going to be there for a total of 14 days, you may want to get annual passes for yourself and the kids. With an AP, you might be able to book the room at a discount. Also, if you want a dining plan, it's possible to book a "ticketless" package for each of the reservations. Then your mother and husband could purchase their tickets at a discount from a third party like undercover tourist or parksavers.
