Can the wireless feature on DS Lite be turned off?

And if so, how? DD9 just bought one with birthday money, and I remember being concerned about it when I was looking into it around Xmas. I hadn't really thought about it since then. Thanks.

I am wondering why you would need to turn off the wireless. The DS wireless is not like having wireless computer access. The wireless technology is to play multi player games with a friend and cannot be accessed by a random person. First, the person using the DS must have a game that can be played by multi players. Second, they must give out their password to the second player in order to be invited into playing a game, hence, they must know the other player to be able to physically talk to them in person or on the phone. There is no personal information exchanged. The only other "wireless" activity you can do with the Ds is a little "chat" program but you must be within a very, very short distance, like in the same house. They cannot surf the web or go on the internet with this system. It is a very simple wireless system, unlike the PSP where you have true wireless internet access.

Yeah, the only way you can get internet is if you buy a cartridge that they sell where you can get access to the full internet.

This is what I needed - some good info. Thanks! It sounds like there isn't anything to worry about. I read some of the info the booklet, but I didn't get that much info out of it. And I'm trying to have DD take responsibility, for the most part, for her machine.

Thanks again!

No, the DS doesn't have regular 'batteries' but rather it charges with a wall outlet like a cellphone. The 'batteries' are built into it and you cannot remove the battery even if you wanted to.

No problem. We have a DS9 who has his own and did some research before we gave it to him. In fact, DH has one now so he can play his own games and they can "chat" together from different rooms in the house.
