Can the HoJo arrange for anything special for a birthday?

We will be at DL for my trio's 10th birthday. It is a HUGE milestone for us, especially considering how preemie they were and the LONG time in the NICU. Can the HoJo arrange for a cake, decorations, etc? We are also planning on doing the b'day party in DL that day.

Hi-

Yes, last September I spoke with the ladies in the Hojo's gift shop and arranged for balloons, a cake and favors.
They ordered the cake from the local Lucky's bakery (was really yummy) and delivered it to the room. A great surprise!

And it was a fraction of the cost of the DLR hotels.

Yes. We were there in October and my DD was turning 7. I ordered a cake from the grocery store for them to leave in our room on the day of her birthday. When we came back to the room after being at DL there was a gorgeous cake, some helium balloons, streamer thingys and decorations and also a gift. It was so special and such a lovely surprise for all of us especially as I thought they would have just left the cake.

We also had the b'day party at DL booked in but I completely forgot about it. I remembered about a month later after we were already home in Australia oh well!!!!

We used F2 balloons and they set up the room before we arrived to surprise DD13 with balloons candy and little toys they do baskets and all sorts of stuff.
They work with you to customize your "party" lol
We were very very pleased and so was DD

Wow, I am not the OP but I will also be at the Hojo in 2 days and also have a birthday guy. We were going to be getting a cake from the outside. Do I need to call ahead, or can I arrange that once I am at the hotel (my sons birthday is 2 days into the trip). So can they come into the room while we are at the park, and then he can come back to a surprise, that would be awesome. Is this stuff expensive? How much more expensive would it be to have to Hojo do this vs doing it on my own.

BTW, I love this forum, i keep getting ideas and learning everytime I log in. Keep it coming.

haydeecm, yes they came into our room whilst we were at the parks and set it all up for us.

From memory the cake we chose was almost $40 and I thought that was ok for the gorgeous cake that it was. But I did not know that the balloons, gift etc would also be left. So all in all I think it was a great price for what they gave us
