We will be leaving for WDW the Thursday before Easter. I was thinking of putting all DDs goodies for the trip in their easter baskets. They are 5 and 3, don't want to ruin the easter bunny magic for them, is it believable that he came early because he knew we wouldn't be home on Easter?

Yes of course!!!!! :sunny: We have Christmas a week early at my inlaws and Santa Claus comes to there house. We tell the kids he comes to her house that day and then our house on the 25th. He does it that way because he is so busy on the 25th. Hey they still buy it.

Tell your kids that the Easter Bunny is coming early so they can have their baskets and toys before you leave. They are still yound enough to buy it. Plus when they get to Disney they will forget about the Bunny!!!

You could also have" little Easter suprises" on Easter morning as well!
When the kids wake up there could be a few Easter eggs hidden around your hotel room, or what I do sometimes is get baby powder and make little rabbit foot tracks! If you don't want to mess up the carpet put some on a table, chair, etc showing he hopped around the room and have them lead to another smaller Easter basket filled with goodies such as candy, disney souveniers, etc! :thumbsup2

Hmm, or you could just pretend that it is Easter on the day you give them the baskets...at three and five they won't really know the date would they? Maybe the 5 year old will...I have 5 year old twins and one of them really pays attention to the calendar and dates and the other doesn't have a clue.

I would just pretend whatever day you do the baskets is Easter. Assuming you'll be in Disney for Easter Sunday they will be too busy to know it's really Easter then.

YES! The Easter bunny happens to be coming a week early to my house as well! My children will be visiting grandma and pa for Spring break over Easter ( we can't go due to work) so we will have Easter home the weekend before..... We've also always had our home Christmas early since we always travel to two families over the actual holiday.

Yes it's fine. The Easter Bunny will be making a special early appearance on Saturday the 15th because we are flying into Disney on Sunday the 16th.

When my daughter asked how the Easter Bunny will know we aren't at home and to come early, I told her I sent the bunny a letter telling him about our vacation plans. :rolleyes1

I wanted to add, there is a list of Easter events at WDW at this link...

Have a great trip!

Maybe they could write the Easter Bunny a special letter to tell him that they will be gone on Easter and asking him if he could come early since they won't be home. I bet if they left the letter in the backyard, one of his messenger bunnies would pick it up and deliver it to him. Wouldn't it be an extra special suprise if he actually listened to "their" request. And, maybe if they told him in their letter that they were going to Disney, they would be extra suprised that he made a special basket of goodies for their trip. :thumbsup2

That is what we are doing. We called the Easter Bunny (get a friend or family member to be the Easter Bunny) and told him that we were going to Disney and were leaving Good Friday and the girls told him that they were afraid that since we didn't know the site number (we are staying at Ft wilderness) and wouldn't know till we got there on Saturday, that they were worried he wouldn't be able to find him. So the Easter bunny had a solution... He would make a special trip down on the night of Good Friday and leave their baskets in the car for them to get and enjoy on the way to Disney. They thought it was neat and are excited that the Easter Bunny is coming to them early...

And the basket is a good way to keep them entertained on the way down. I got them backpacks instead of baskets- filled with snacks, juice boxes, coloring books, Cinderella crayons, bubbles, jump ropes, dd5 - is getting a Disney princess game boy game, dd2 is getting a minnie mouse barbie, and they are each getting a little dollar handheld game from Walmart and a few other trinkets- and chapsticks and even Disney Dollars!... I figure it will help make the trip go a little easier...
