Can SWA Ticketless Funds be used on cruises & packages?

I'm wondering if anyone here knows.

I've got almost $400 in ticketless funds that expire early June 2007. I'm really thinking we aren't going to be able to use them....and I'm afraid they'll expire. (Stupid me grabbed 2 DING fares, then had to cancel trips because we didn't really have the $ for hotel & food.) I've tried "selling" to relatives & friends, but no one going anywhere.

So, I got to thinking. Southwest has other things on their websites, like packages & cruises & rental cars. Can I use the ticketless funds to pay for stuff like that....or JUST on the airline portion?

Maybe I can pull off a trip that way. I just really don't want to loose $364.

Nevermind. I think the answer is NO -- can only use for airfare. I tried booking a fake cruise & fake hotel ressie...and when you get to the payment page, credit card is the only option. No place to put in Ticketless Funds like when you book airfare. Bummer.

Sighhhh....... looks like I'm going to end up loosing $ then, because don't think we can afford a trip where I'll have to pay hotel, car & food.

I would call SW and talk with them. I've always found them to be very easy to work with. There have been other posters that have said SW has extended the dates on their unused funds when they have been about to expire. Are you a RR card holder? There is a special # on the back of that card to call with questions/comments. My DH and I have booked their vacation pkgs before and even had a problem this last time (DH couldn't use his outbound ticket and due to work schedule and had to fly in a day later) He went ahead and purchased a oneway and then wrote SW a letter about what had happened. SW refunded his pkg outbound fare, no problem. SW said they understood and heres your money! I love SW

You can transfer the credits to anyone.... All they need is your conf # and the Name that was on the CC you used.....

For ex: my Dsis now has $330 dollars in credits thanks to me finding her a ding fare... anyway if she doesn't fly, I know i will be sometime in the next year. I can always use her credits and give her the cash for them. I told her to sell to DM though because DM wants to fly to Vegas soon.

You can extend the credits another six months also but there are differnet restrictions then on how they are used. (ie: you have to book flight and fly first and then call and they will credit back whatever card you booked the second flight with. Or you can use the credits to purchase a ticket right at a SWA counter on the spot. (not the most efficient use of funds because you can't get internet or ding fares this way)
