Can someone walk me through the dinner/kids club/show routine?

I have been reading threads and trying to figure this out. We are travelling with 4 families. My kids are super excited about the kids club. I read on a thread that I can no longer find that the kids can get their meal quickly and then get escorted by parent to kids club. Parent then returns to enjoy quiet meal with partner or rest of group.

How does the timing of all this work with the shows.

We have early dinner - group of 14. June 17th sailing on the Dream.

Thanks, Tonya

I have not cruised yet, but have put in a lot of "research" hours;).

Do you have early or late dinner? The late dinner offers what you are talking about.... Actually, the parent does not have to leave.... Kids club CM's come into the dining room and take all the kids that want to go with them. I don't know the exact timing, maybe someone else will come along with more details.... If you have first seating, this is not offered... But I suppose you could still have a parent escort the kids to the clubs....

Oops- just realized you do have early dinner... So this dine and play thing is not offered for early dinner (not sure why, we are also doing early dinner and it would be nice). So, you would need to plan on talking to your servers and telling them you would like the kids to be served quickly and then you can run them to the clubs once they finish eating.... The average dinner lasts about 90 minutes... I think you can have it set up where the kids will be done with their meals as the adults finish their starters? Again, hopefully someone else will come along with better info....

This summer on the Baltic we just escorted our kids and it worked out fine. It only took about 5 minutes.

I think she wants to know how quickly the kids will be fed before she can take them to clubs....

If you let your servers know that you want the kids fed frist and that you will take them to the club they will do this for you. The amount of time will depend on what they oprder and how fast they eat but I would think 30 to 45 min should do you.

As far as for the shows on the Magic and the Wonder you go to the show after eating for those who have earily dining and before eating for those who have late dining. But on the Dream there are three show times and you will be assigned a show time. Since I have not cruised on the dream I really cannot speak as to how this will work. I hope this is the information that you were looking for.

What you are referring to is called Dine and Play. It is available on the Magic and Wonder for late dinner seating.

It is very simple--you take your kids to the show before your dinner time. The show had NOTHING to do with Dine and Play. OK, you go to dinner at your assigned time. You tell the server that the kids are doing Dine and Play. They bring the kid's food fast. At 9:00, the CMs from the Club/Lab come into the dining rooms with their computers. You will watch for them, but your servers will help, and will have notified them that your children will be leaving with them. The CMs will sign the kids into the Club right in the dining room, and take them to the programming. You will enjoy the rest of your dinner in peace and quiet, do whatever you plan to do for the evening, and pick up the kids before the OC closes.

Yes, you DO have to pick them up!
