We will be at the Poly in March and I have seen some posts about ordering from touch screens instead of from a CM. I have never heard how to do it- Just posts about "it went okay" to "it was confusing". Can someone post to explain exactly what you do to order. I also have picky eaters who generally special order things. Does that make it harder? We will have the CS dining plan so will eat here a few times- Captain Cooks I belive.

We have done it several times at Capt Cooks, usually breakfast. It is really easy. When you come into the restaurant they have a posted menu overhead.

You approach a tv screen (there are 3) then you touch on the picture of the item you wish to order. Sometimes there is a cm standing by if you need help. Once you have finished your order you will recieve a receipt.
I think you will need to make your order then talk to the cm who gives you the food if you for example want to have no lettuce on your burger. So complete your order and immediately go over to the food area and talk to the cms behind the counter about your special requests.

They also have a refrigerator to the side filled with drinks, yogert, fruit, sushi, alcohol and select sandwiches/salads for to go. There is also a display case with muffins, danishes, cup cakes and cookies. Neither of these items will require use of the touch screens. Pick up what you want and then head to the register with these items and your receipt. You pay, they will give you a pager and you later come pick up the food ordered from the touch screens.

We used it once, it was fine but there was a virgin strawberry daquiri on the touch board and I ordered it. When I went to pay the CM said they do not sell them and they were supposed to take them off the menu board quite some time ago but never did it...that ticked me off a bit...this was Oct 07

There are only 3:scared1: for the whole place??? That doesnt sound like enough. Especially when someone like me who doesnt know what they are doing is standing in front of one:confused3

You shouldn't have to talk to the cooks unless it's a REALLY special order because there are options to add or remove toppings on the touchscreen.

Thanks-it shouldnt be too crazy of an order. Usually they want things plain, like a plain cheeseburger
