I'll try not to make this too long.

Yesterday DD16 called me from school saying she got in a fight with another girl (they used to be good friends last summer, much to my chagrin), they were in the stairway and no teachers saw this happen. I told her to stay away from this girl, DD sort of brushed it off but it was really bothering me. This morning before school DH was talking to DD about the incident and DD thought it was over, no big deal, she planned on staying away from this girl.

Well today, DD calls me again from school and asks if I could pick her up. She got in another fight with this girl. The other girl told her she wanted to talk. DD thought she wanted to work things out so they went into the bathroom (big mistake on DD's part), the girl threw a punch and they had another fight.

So I went to the school to talk to DD. I told her we needed to let the principal know what was going on. She being 16 didn't want to get the principal involved because she thought it would make things worse. So DH and I decided to call the school anyway to let them know what is going on. The principal said he'd call both girls in and talk to them. Well, he called back and said he gave them the riot act and gave them both in school suspension tomorrow. He said they both said they are ok with each other, but other girls are trying to get involved because they want to see them fight.

So I'm just hoping this puts an end to it all.

Here's a  for you, sweetie. I know, high school can be so hard. I graduated in '75 so I know it's much worse today than "back then", but even then I had a couple run-ins with other girls. I was always thankful they didn't escalate into hitting, but I remember going to school a few times feeling like I had a rock in the pit of my stomach, worrying about what was gonna happen. It was awful so I can feel for your DD.

I dislike when the kids are having problems in school. There is nothing worse, school at this point is just about their whole life and there is no escaping it.

I hope it all works out.

 I hate it when others make things worse in situations like this. I hope your dd and the other girl learn to stay away from each other if they can't settle things and if they let others make the problem worse.

A big {HUG} for you and your DD

I can't help with any advice, but hope this helps...
