We are going for our 3rd trip Thursday, Dec 3 and have yet to try the Biergarten. This trip it is me(38), my parents and three kids- 7, 5 and 2.

I have always heard people talk about how wonderful it is so it makes we want to try it, but from looking at the menu, I'm not convinced it's worth the time and money. I'm not sure how much the kids would eat as they can be picky and I would not eat a huge amount of food.

Is the show enough to justify the cost? We are of German heritage so I thought it might be fun, but we only have one day/park on this trip and I don't want to waste a lot of time at a TS meal if it's not worth it.

Any opinions appreciated.

All I know is a lot of people love this place but it is the only TS along with Italy in EPCOT that me and DW have not had diner at yet. I really want to try the place and 2 weeks ago when there DW checked the menu and said we will have to try this some time so next year this is a must try for us. But our always must go to is Le Cellier, I could never pass on the Mushroom Filet if we were there for only one night.

We loved Biergarten! We spent 2 hours there we liked it so much! The food was GREAT and there was something for all of us (my dd and I are vegetarians). The atmosphere was wonderful and the music & dancing was great fun.

Here are some pics...

I'm going on Saturday myself - but mostly for the beer. The food's pretty good.

They have macaroni and cheese on the buffet but as far as I know they do not have the other kids "staples", chicken nuggets and pizza. They've got frankfurters, which might be close to American style hot dogs. Although the Disney hot dogs are now mostly chicken, so you might prefer the frankfurters.

We've gone 3x with our DS, he's only 2. He LOVES the show though and dances the entire time in his high chair. He's a super picky eater and thankfully I don't have to pay for him just yet. But the food there is great, they have a nice variety.

You can hang there for free without an ADR. Ask to be seated in the "Viewing" area. Back left hand side. You can drink there but no food. You also have a good seat for the show and certainly are allowed to go do the Chicken Dance.

The food is good but really it is the beer and atmosphere you go for!

Thanks for the photos and the tip about the "viewing area" I think we may try that. That way we can experience the atmosphere but not necessarily have to eat there.

Wow, I did not know this, and this might help me out a lot. My DH loves Biergarten, as in the "I need to eat here more than once on each vacation" kind of love. I think the atmosphere and huge beverages are wonderful, but the food, although good, can be pretty filling. This could be a good compromise for us...

Biergarten is a great place. DH is not an adventurous eater but after one lunch he was hooked on the place. It's one of his favorites. The roasted chicken and pork schnitzel is really good. They also have pretzel bread which my brother could make a meal off of just by itself.

The atmosphere was really neat and the show was fun (it was our honeymoon and they did a toast to us!) but the food was just okay. I don't like buffets though so if you do you might like it more than I did!

Count us in!!!!!!!!!!! My dh, dd and myself go there once every time we visit. The food is really good and the show is a lot of fun. I know a lot of people don't like sitting with strangers but we enjoy it. :cool1:

Where there are beer drinkers, there are no strangers;)

Ziggy zaggy ziggy zaggy hoi-hoi-hoi!!!

If you mean 'Zicke zacke zicke zacke hoi hoi hoi' is originates in Prussia and has a military connotation from the 1930's.

And I would never anymore recommend Biergarten due to the lack of authenticity and the poor quality of the food.

It is actually a war cry, which was adapted in some circles as a drinking rally, but again, it has military and negative connotations. Somehow it was adapted by American speakers to be a positive thing, but it really comes from a dark background and not every appreciates it.

Please excuse my ignorance, I didn't mean to offend or upset anyone. Since I have always heard that phrase from oom-pah pah bands, I assumed it as innocent as the "chicken dance".

I stand corrected. :worship:
