Can someone refresh my memory about the Splash Mountain Stairs?

How well lit and how slick/wet are the Splash Mountain Stairs?

I have two completely torn ligaments in my ankle - I can walk, run, hit the gym, etc. But going down stairs (because of which ligaments are torn) is harder for me balance wise and muscle wise. I'm usually fine if it's well lit and not slick. I vaguely recall the Splash Mountain being dark but that's all I can remember.

I wasn't worried about it but we'll be there in a week and I must be getting pre trip jitters or something. Its the only ride I can think of with stairs that are potentially slick/wet.

Thanks in advance for refreshing my memory!

My suggestion would be to ask going around the stairs. My philosophy with something like that would be why take the chance?

And, you can ask at the attraction - let them know your issues and they should let you bypass the stairs.

1) Yes.
2) The stairs ARE NOT necessary for the ride.
3) The loading platform is at ground level.
4) The stairs only let you cross over the waterway.

Thanks for that reminder - we went to San Antonio last new years and were walking around on cobblestone in the rain and I remember asking myself if I had remembered to pack my insurance card as I was sure there was an ER in my future. But I was fine.

Thanks for the advice/reassurance! Do I ask at the entrance to the ride or further in the queue? I can't remember where the stairs are the in queue (ie early or late)

Again, many thanks!

Sarah
