Can someone recommend a good Disney AAA agent?

I called the number on their website but was quoted the same exact price Disney gave me. Should I try another agent?

I used Small World Travel and got virtually the same price for the package with the upgraded tickets as they offer at the AAA site. The room for the time period I am going is only 10% off rack rate. I usually do everything separately and then I am only out the one night deposit not the entire package price 45 days before I even leave. That bothers me for some reason. My sister is still deciding if she wants to go on the package or not.

The past two times that I checked with AAA & I got the same price as Disney.com. I told them that & they said that they can keep checking for discounts. I'm on LI too so I asked the girl if I was calling the Smithtown office and she told me that I was connected to their Garden City calling center- I don't know if this makes a difference. A few weeks before I had called the 516 # on the back of my AAA card & was connected with man I believe was named Al, the price he gave me was almost $200 less, but this was for 9 days.I then changed my dates to only 6 days in July so I was wondering if that effects the quotes that I recently received. It can't hurt to try & asked for him. HTH:)

I am in PA and use our Fairless Hills office. I always get a better rate, and our agent always goes above and beyond. I will PM you with her info.

Anyone have a good AAA agent in ATL area? I called one day & got a package rate for $200 less than Disney. That was for 6/9 - 6/15 (6-nights) at Pop w/ 5-day expiring park hoppers and the dining plan. Then we decided that we'd go ahead & get 10-day non-expiring park hoppers instead since we know we'll go back in the next 2 years. So I called back to check on that pricing. It came out to be exactly the same as Disney's price. Why? Should I call another AAA agency?

Thanks.
Angie

It's not necessarily just calling a different agent - though that can help a lot! Last year I first booked through the local office - and they were totally clueless about Disney. I cancelled that ressie and switched to an out-of-state office with a Disney specialist..it made all of the difference.

That being said, you might have to be more flexible on your dates to get the best discount. AAA-rate available rooms do sell out so if you're asking them to quote you a price on a sold-out dates, you'll get the standard Disney price.

I give the agent three different weeks and ask her to quote each week and compare.

I'd call again and ask the agent why. It's possible all the AAA rates at that resort were sold out for the time period (they only have a select number of rooms with the discount, and certain types of rooms are never discounted, like suites, for instance). You might be able to get the discount by switching resorts or changing the dates, if that's possible.

Generally, AAA should save you 10-20% on the room portion of any package you book. However, as far as I know, you can't get both the AAA discount and another discount (like free dining or free hoppers). If Disney is running one of those promotions, your AAA price will be the same as going through Disney directly. AAA saves you money when Disney has no other promotions going at the time you're trying to book. And you have to reserve them before they all sell out!

I'm also looking for a more Disney aware AAA agent. Any suggestions?

This is where I am at too, I don't feel any of my local AAA agents have a clue! Can someone pm me some names and phone numbers if you have them?

Thanks so much!

We just call Disney CRO and they give us the AAA rate. We don't bother with the AAA agents any more (Other than insurance matters). Going directly through Disney allows you to check everything online as well.

I would like a AAA TA that knows what they are doing also. We stopped using AAA 3 years ago after a problem we had and have been booking room only ever since. I don't need them for any current trips but would like a name for future use. I'm in NY.

A couple days ago I tried AAA yet again--I'm on LI too so I called the 516 # on the back of the AAA card NOT the 1-800 # on the website- for some reason I had better rates this way. Anyway I was connected with a very helpful girl named Shannon - she quoted me almost $200 less for a July package for 6 nights at CSR, I'm definately going to book with her as soon as my DH decides if he can make the trip with us. Her extention was 6138. HTH:)

Thanks, we actually go to the the office in Smithtown all the time but we never have any luck with the TA's there. I'm tempted to push them aside and book stuff myself when I'm sitting there trying to be patient.

I wish the Disney World site was as user friendly as the Disney Cruise Line site. Then we wouldn't need Travel Agent's.

I tried to book a room only through our AAA office and they gave me a great rate, but then added on a service charge of $50. When i questioned it she said they are not commission based and they get paid by this fee! She said if we booked a package it would be $75 because that is their maximum. I wasn't saving that much, so I called back and got the same rate through Disney. I would have loved to work with a Disney TA, as this is our first trip staying onsite.
