ok, this is my story

me and my fiance got engaged in disneyworld last month, and we are looking into getting married there, but there doesnt seem to be much info on the site, or any way to contact them other than by phone (we live in UK so it would cost quite a bit)

so before i HAVE to phone them, i just want to see if any of you fantastic people are willing to help me

we want the escape wedding package for exactly 20 people (including us) which will consist of 19 adults and 1 child, i am also a member of the Disney Vaction Club (Old Key West is my home resort) and was wondering if any of you knew if i could have our guests stay in there for the duration of the holiday? or would we have to get them into another disney resort as it says on the wedding site, guests must stay at disney for at least 5 consecutive days.

we had a quote from virgin for flights/hotel package for 2 adults 1 child staying at grand floridian and it would cost £3687.01, so for an extra 18 people, thats going to cost us nearly £40000 before we even got the wedding package, and thats a little over our budget.

we have told people maybe we can sort out the DVC, but we still have to contact them about it

any information would be greatly appreciated as we'd love to get married there

Congratulations on your engagement Paul and Ruby!

To answer your question, yes, you can use your DVC points as your minimum stay requirement. Also realize that for an Escape wedding only you and your bride are required to stay for the minimum four nights.

Your guests can stay where ever is convenient to you and them.

Unfortunately, at first you will have to call Disney, but as you move through the planning process you can communicate with your planner via email.

Good luck and hope that helps!

They are now requiring that guests stay for a minimum of 5 days for an escape wedding?! That doesn't sound right.

Mine is in January and only myself and DF were required to stay for 4 nights.

Congrats! :thumbsup2 We also just signed our contract work for our wedding in June of 2010 and we are only required to stay 4 nights. Only the bride and groom have to stay at a Disney resort. I have friends coming who may be staying off site because they aren't actually going to any of the parks.
