Can someone please explain something to me

I am sorry if this has been brought up before but could someone explain something to me?

What is all of the "I need a mummy" and "I am a bay be" etc. business I see going on in VMK. Also, what are "daycare" rooms? (I see they are not allowed but still exist)

Now, I am an adult w/out children, so I admit being a bit behind the times with all of the kids stuff, but what kind of game is this? What is the purpose? Is it a bad/good game?

I think for the most part it is just kid's make believe, but it certainly has the potential to turn bad. It's like any other make believe in VMK. There are Star Wars ppl, vampires, babies, cafes, etc.
