I read this on tikiman unofficial website, however I am only posting this just as confirmation. My family & I are confirmed in a Garden view room in the King Kamehameha Club Concierge Hawaii building for this December. On his site he says that rooms on the Lagoon side which go from #3501-3510 & rooms on the Garden which go from #3527-3534 are the non smoking rooms. I am sure he is correct, however just want to make sure of that? I am still going to have my Dad call CRO & request a non smoking room to be on the safe side & yes I know it's a request & CRO will say nothing is guaranteed. However let's say we do not request one, what are the chances that in a building with 3 floors of Concierge rooms that we would end up with a smoking room on the 3rd floor which is the smoking optional floor?

Also we have never requested a non smoking room before since we have always stayed at the Atrium Club Concierge at the Contemporary & all rooms on that floor are non smoking. Anyway if someone can please answer this for me I would appreciate it.

Sorry.. can't answer your question. But just wanted to say ..I hope you enjoy your stay at the Poly..I was surprised to see you are not staying in the CR:)
What made you change your mind?
Also this is off topic...but i've always wondered are you a man or woman..:)
Its hard to tell by your user name.
I think you are a young man around 20 for some reason...but I could be totally wrong.:hippie:
Hope you don't mind me asking..its just nice to picture someone sometimes.
I think your in for a treat with the poly though.:thumbsup2

We stayed there last year and were on that side. I am not sure what room we had, but it was non-smoking and the rooms you mentioned sound familar. I'll see if I can find my documents later and update this if I can find the room number. I was right over the entrance to the Hawaii building. I did not smell any smoke or smoke residue. I would request a non-smoking room to be safe. They're usually pretty good at accomodating that request. Occasionally some people will smoke out on their balconies even in non-smoking rooms. I have never run across this. You more than likely won't have problem. Good Luck.

I found my room number, we were in 3532 Garden view. It was non-smoking, I still would request it though. The Poly is beautiful and the concierge lounge has a beautiful view of the lake. We watched the fireworks from the beach. I hope you like it.

You can let CRO know but since you are staying concierge I would be sure and let the IPO know that you prefer a non smoking room. I don't believe you will have any problem at all getting a non smoking room. For awhile they had more rooms on the the third floor smoking but they decreased the number since they didn't need them for requests.

The only rooms in Hawaii that are smoking are 3516-21 or similar. I know it's only the last 3 or 4 rooms in the hallway (on either side).

Cr Resort Fan. I think your family is very similar to mine. We are lovers of the Contemporary Atrium Club too. We are however newcomers to that level. We have a large family so the CR could not accommodate all 7 of us in one room. When we had 2 then 3 then 4 kids we did stay there in regular rooms. We only have 2 kids at home now.
Anyway we are also trying out the Polynesian Hawaii on our trip in April just my husband and I then for our family trip in July. We have stayed there one other time , we were not impressed so our kids are a little worried this year. We just love the feeling of the CR and looking at the castle at night as you go to sleep. I am hoping we get the same feeling at the Poly.
I know you seem to have developed a nice relationship with the staff of Cr which is great. We don't seem to have that, some staff have been indifferent. I would say that overall we have had good experiences just not as magical as you have had. I think that is why we are switching at least this time.
I hope you enjoy your stay as well, I have heard such good things about the Poly I am really excited.
This year we are also breaking the mold again in July, our kids are flying my husband and I are driving. We are leaving a day earlier and we are staying at Portofino Bay at Universal for 1 night. Our kids are calling us traitors. I think we might really like Portofino Bay a lot, but Disney will always be our home.
Good luck to your family:woohoo:

Yes, the third floor is a mixed smoking area. Despite what some people want you to perceive...you can not instructed cigarette or cigar smoke to stay in specific-confined areas. We consider the entire third floor to be smoking, since they eve allow smoking on this floor...guest will comply with smoking restriction like they 'do' at Epcot:smokin: ::yes:: It is best to request-no smoking under these conditions.

I always wished they would make the 2nd floor the smoking optional floor. I hate staying on the first floor anywhere (it just creeps me out), but at the Poly if I want concierge, I have to weigh whether or not I would rather be on a smoking optional floor or give up the balcony. I think I would just suck it up and stay on the 3rd floor.

We were on the 3rd floor towards the middle and had no sign of smoking or a smoking smell. Believe me, I would have not been happy if we did but there was nothing.

Just thought I let you all know the day after I started this topic, my Dad called CRO and requested a non smoking room. So hopefully it will happen since it's our only request and like I said before I know since it's a request it might not happen. However is not true the less requests we give CRO the better chances we have of getting a non smoking room since we did not request anything else?

We had room 3530, non smoking, and never smelled smoke anywhere on that floor!

As Liz mentioned, I would be sure to e-mail the IPO staff with your request as well. They have a separate room assignor for the club level. I'm sure they'd notice it on your reservation, but it's good to have it noted in their system as well.
