DH and I were doing some tidy up and looked in a box he'd stashed away years ago. In it, we found something that I can't even tell what it is and am hoping someone can clue me in! Its a small Disneyland castle on a small alligator clip that has a small chain over to a small tinkerbell who is also on an alligator clip. The whole item is gold colored, can't tell if the "aged" patina is original to the piece or the result of being squirreled away for ever. I've been all over google, but its hard not even knowing what its called or used for....:confused3 ideas, anyone? TIA!

hadn't considered that...i'll try that search string. Thanks so much!:goodvibes

If this is a sweater clip, the chain should be approx 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 inches long.

How long is the chain?

Probably sold in Disneyland in the 60's, about the same time as the charm bracelets were popular souvies.

It might be a tie clip. You might check the pinpics.com website and see if the show it. Sometimes they happen to get listed even if they are not a pin. Or you can alway send a picture to Disney and they will tell you what it is and when it was sold.

Wow! great info...thanks all. I ordered two books from Amazon but its not in either....I'll work through the options suggested here. :)

useful info. thanks!

Yes..that would be very useful info...
if it is true..
Just where and to whom at Disney do you send your picture?:rotfl:

I was just coming back to ask the same question, as I am still unable to figure out what I have. Is there an address for random questions about old memorabilia? :)

Can you take a picture or two and post them here? And, if possible, include something such as a quarter or small ruler in the photo so we can get an idea of scale.

:lmao:As far as i know..
no..there is not...
I have never heard of Disney having a dept...
that answers questions on old memorabilia.
It would be lovely....
but...I think it is...wishful thinking.
also..it has to be either a tie clip or a sweater clip...
I had never seen a tie clip with both ends like that..
and..I just found an antique[perhaps early century...] one..that is..exactly as you described it...
at least...the chain and the clip part.

First let me say that I have collected early Disneyland souvies for many years and I've never seen this piece, but I would not have had any interest in jewelry items like this anyway.

In the late 50's, Disneyland began offering a charm bracelet with similar charms on a soft "gift presentation" card labeled "Little Miss Disneyland". The only one I find in my reference books also has charms of stars and MM. I'd guess this was a spin off product of the charm bracelet, probably sold on property in the late 50's and 60's.

interesting....i had no idea when I started this info quest that I had something atypical on my hands. :) i do believe I am now well and truly hooked on finding "the answer"...
