What is Hell week? I did a search but it just mentions Christmas week in all the results. I saw a referance on the sticky crowd report about Hell week Oct 9th-14 :scared1: That is when i am going. I planned our one day at IOA for Thursday the 13th but now I am worried.

Hell week refers to Halloween Horror Nights mostly...its the week that the local schools are out of school, and all of the younger children tend to be at HHN those nights, making it very crowded.

If I am not attending HHN only going to IOA for a day (Thursday Oct 13) will I be ok or should we try for Wed Oct 12th instead. Its the only 2 days I have available. I prefer to have several days in US/IOA but we hhvae WDW planned this year due to free resort and discounted tickets through the YES program. DH found out through his company (comcast) we get 4 free 1 day passes to one of the two Universal parks. We cant pass up a FREE chance to see WWOHP before our 2012 US/IOA trip.
Of course we will go over even with crowds as we are not out any money but I would like to enjoy the park not fight crowds. The kids really enjoyed it when we went in 09.

You should be fine...HHN is only at the Studios not IOA. CityWalk will be jammed later in the evening though but the crowd won't affect IOA much if at all.

depending on when the florida schools will have that fall break can make a difference in the crowd size in the parks during the day.

only one time i went and it fell at the beginning of hell week.

i found it too crowded in the afternoon for my liking.

now i leave before that begins.

this year i leave the day before it begins.

if you want to go to uo on that thursday, do the studio side first.
once it starts to get crowded, switch to the ioa side.

you can avoid any crowds by going opposite of the masses then.

Thanks Metro and Mac... We are going to only have time for the one park, IOA. I plan to be there early and try to get as much as possible done.

Is "Hell week" just the week of 9-14? I was planning a quick trip with my young son for either oct. 14-16 or 21-24th. we are not night owls, so not being there after 5 doesn't bother me, but crowds do. We would probably stay on site to get in early/ and for FOL pass. (But I've just started reading all of these treads.)
thanks

0ct 9 this a sunday, part of the columbus day weekend.

until we know the schedule's of the fall break for the florida schools, i couldn't tell you when Hell Week will be.

after columbus day weekend, wednesdays are added to the HHN even nights.

i have known hell week to be the week following columbus day in some past years.

to be on the safe side, i'm leaving on that wednesday.......10/13
