Can someone explain this to me?

Here are the facts:

My use year is June.

For use year June 2007, I have 49 points still remaining.

Earlier today, I made a reservation for OKW for June 2008 that required 48 points.

A few moments ago, I checked my account and found that they pulled the 48 points from June 2008 use year, yet did not use the 49 that still remained from 2007. I would think that they'd use them first.

What am I doing wrong here?

You're not doing anything wrong, but you may be confused about your Use Year.

Your June 2008 UY begins June 1, 2008. So, if you are making a ressie in June 2008, the points should come from your 2008 UY. The 49 points you have will expire on May 31, 2008 if you don't do something with them, but you can't presently use them for anything after that date.

You are well within your banking deadlines. If you are sure you're not taking any trips between now and June 1, 2008, I would bank your 49 points. Then, call MS back and see if they will use the banked points for the June '08 ressie.

If your plan was to use the 48 points from the current Use Year they needed to be banked into the 2008 Use Year.

I'd just call MS back tomorrow and explain what you want to do - bank the remaining points from the June2007 Use Year and then use 48 of those points for the reservation you want next June. They should have no problem reallocating the points at this time as I'm sure there is plenty of availability.

Enjoy! :)
