Can someone explain the DP to me?

Sorry, I know this sounds like a dumb question, but there are a couple of things I'm not getting.

1. So the DP we have allows us 1 CS, 1 TS and 1 Snack per person. DS doesn't count since he's under 3. Does each "meal" equal 2 points? Why don't they just use 1 pt for each to keep it simple?

2. For CRT, I am planning on taking DD. DH and DS will not go. So, I use 2 adult TS points for this meal. I would use mine and DH's right? So basically I'm just trading in one TS meal elsewhere for CRT right? Or is it more than one meal? And since i'm using adult points, DD still has her TS meal to use?

3. We are there for 5 nights, so basically DH would only have to pay OOP for that meal, since I am using his points for CRT. Right?

I don't know why I'm not getting it.....LOL. I'm not that dense, really. :lmao:

Thanks!!

Lisa

On DDP each paying age person gets 1TS 1CS and 1 Snack credit per night in a hotel.

I believe you have 3 people for 5 nights so that is a total of 15ts 15cs and 15snack credits that you can use in any which way before midnight of the day you leave your hotel.

CRT and a few "Signature" restaurants take 2 credits per person for 1 meal, whereas most table service restaurants take 1 ts credit per person per meal (bear in mind that under 3 do not count in this way, as it is assumed they will eat from your plate, but if you order from the menu for them you will have to pay for it out of pocket. Buffet eating is free for them.)

CRT for 2 people over age 3 will take 4TS credits...(2TS each)

I hope this has made it a little easier to understand!

Oh, I didn't know that each TS and CS was only 1 point. So basically if we do CRT, I will have to pay OOP for other meals since, we are using up 4 points for this meal?

Thanks for your help!

Please read through the FAQ on the Everything You Always Wanted To Know sticky thread at the top of this page.

If you go to CRT, and you pay with the dining plan, yes it will cost you two TS credits per person for that meal, and you will need to plan accordingly how to allocate your remaining TS credits over the rest of your scheduled meals.

You will receive 10 adult TS credits for you and your husband and 5 TS credits for your DD. If she is 9 or under, they are CHILD TS credits and must be used for kids meals. If she is 10 or older then her credits will be grouped with yours and you will have 15 adult TS credits.

Unless your DD is an "adult" (10 and older) it doesn't make any sense to use your DH's credits and pay OOP for an expensive meal ($30+) for him later. Use your DD's credits and pay OOP for a $7 kids meal later.

Everyone in your party will have 5 TS credits each. CRT requires 2 TS credits... so everyone in your party will have 3 TS credits left. I assume your DD is a child so after CRT you will have 6 total adult TS credits left and 3 child TS credits left.

Actually, the OP's DH is not planning on going to CRT so she would spend only 2 adult TS credits and (I assume) 2 child TS credits. So that would leave them with 8 adult TS credits and 3 child TS credits. They can then go to 4 more 1 TS credit meals and just psy OOP for the DD.

I thought for CRT you have to use all ADULT TS points?

DD will be 7 when we go on the trip so her's will be child points. So I thought I HAD to use DH's adult TS points.

No -- all restaurants require the appropriate adult/child credits for each guest served, regardless of whether or not they're 1 TS or 2 TS locations.

Pizza delivery, on the other hand, does require adult TS credits.

I have to say I have never done it before, but I am planning on doing the DDP this year, since the two people going with me are on a budget.

We are doing a couple of character dining experiences, which frees us up to do the DTD restaurants like Paradisio, etc. I was pleased to see Raglan Road was on it; one of our party is Irish and cannot wait to see the dancers. We are trying to free up at least two nights by using double credits for the character meals.

It seems like you can really make it work for you, with a little pre-planning.....I am thrilled to be doing it this year.

Just so you're aware... Cinderella's Royal Table (CRT) is the only character meal that requires two credits. All others use only a single TS credit.
