How does room service/ in room dining work with the DxDP? We will be staying at CR. It uses 2 credits per person, correct? What is included? Does that include tax and tip? Or is tip automatically added but charged to your room?

We would use it for either breakfast or dinner. At breakfast, can you get an 'appetizer' and entree? For example, bowl of fruit and yogurt and pancakes? Does it tend to be a large portion? (two kids sharing pancakes?) or is it smaller?

Also, what time does breakfast start? Can you get it about 6 AM?

Thanks.

It is two credits per meal ordered, but you don't have to order for everyone in the room. We usually just get two or three adult meals to share (13, 9 and 2).

The inclusions are the same as at any other restaurant, foodwise (so no appetizer with breakfast), but the gratuity and delivery charge are also included. So with room service there is no OOP cost at all.

We've only ordered room service at Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge, and only lunch/dinner service. But the dinner portions were generous so I'd guess that breakfast portions are as well.

Breakfast generally starts at 6 or 7, depending on the resort. The in room dining menus on All Ears have the specific times each meal is offered. http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

We had room service on the deluxe plan at AKL.
It was LOVELY.

We just wanted a bite for lunch (because that meal plan is way too much food).

We ordered 1 meal to split for 3 of us.

we got an app of a full cheese plate with fruit and a basket of flat breads and crackers.
the entree of a huge club sandwich on ciabatta bread and a side of fruit salad.
A bottle of powerade
A dessert trio of a huge zebra dome and 2 other mousse like desserts.

The cast member brought it in and cleared off the table and draped it in a white table cloth and set out a mini salt and pepper shaker and a selection of little jars of condiments and laid out all the food nicely.

It cost 2 of our credits.
But it included everything and would have been nearly $60 with the service charges and gratuity that were all included. And we were able to relax in the room and watch the animals on the savannah and have a 'vacation' moment!

We all ate and still had some of the cheeses, fruit, and crackers left!
