Can someone explain photopass to me?

Hi, I am new here and just doing a bit of research about WDW. My dh and I are thinking about taking our dd next year for her 4th birthday. I keep hearing about photopass - as far as I understand, photographers are all over the parks and will take pictures of you, but I'm not sure I understand it beyond that. Could someone please point me to a website that would explain in more detail or take a minute and explain it to me? Thank you (also, we live in Canada and wondered if that would affect anything - ordering CDs or photobooks, etc.)

Yes, there are photographers all over the parks. The first time you approach one (or they approach you), they will give you a Photopass card. Then every time a photopass photographer takes your picture, they scan your card so that picture will show up in your account. When you get home from your trip, you go to the Photopass website, enter your number and your pictures will all (hopefully) be in your account. Then you can order individual pictures or a cd or other things.

as SOON AS u get your card WRITE DOWN ALL those numbers someplace safe in case it gets lost during the week, if u do WRITE them down somewhere safe the pix can be found , but if u do NOT,poof,,,gone

A couple diff members of your party can each have a photopass and then they can be linked together before u end vacation, takes just 2 minutes do do this at any camera center in any park.(be sure to WRITE down any/all the numbers off each card)

wait till u get home to buy the cd($124.00 for cd but well worth it, our cd had 300 images on it) when u go home u can add cute boarders etc to pix before they burn u your cd , at parks u cant do this add on so wait!

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. After 5 trips, I think I might be in 10 photos out of hundreds! On one trip, if you didn't hear my voice on the videotape, you wouldn't have known that I even went to Disney with my family! I am the official photographer and videographer, so it will be nice to have someone else taking pictures. What we did last time was had the photographer take a picture with our camera after taking one with theirs - pictures came out great!

Does photopass link to the photos that they take of you while on the rides, or afterward, like at Star Tours or Mission Space?

Thanks for these great tips. I have gone to WDW several times, but never thought about any of these tips. I never knew they could link two photopasses together. I also was wondering how your photopass had 300 images on it. I think ours from last year only had around 30. I guess I am really missing some photographers. I'll have to make sure we go to all the photographers. I wish they had a list where photopass photographers were. I didn't buy the CD last year, but I did buy some pictures off of it at the end of our trip. Thanks again for the information!!
