Can someone check this for me please?

We are from U.K. and were planning to go to WDW Feb/March 2021. Not sure how things are going to be then so wanted to book but then have the option to cancel if we decide not to go.
We have an August Use Year and have 233 points for 2020. Our 7 month window opens up tomorrow for our dates. If I book using less than the 233 points, can I cancel and they will be returned to the use year?
If that is the case, when do I have to cancel by and then when do I have to bank the points by to not lose them?

Since the trip is in your August 2020 UY, as long as you cancel it at least 31 days in advance, and before your banking deadline of March 31st....those points are returned to your UY with no restrictions to them.

Need to add on another 4 nights to the end of the stay.
Can somebody tell me when I can do this?
Also do I have to make a new booking for 4 nights or can I add on 1 day at a time?
Also can I do it online as an amendment to my existing booking?

Tomorrow you can modify the existing reservation to add the next night and you can repeat the process every day until you have gotten all of your nights. Or you can wait 4 days and then add all 4 additional nights at one time by modifying the existing reservation’s dates to include them.

Given you are at the 7 month window, I would add days one at a time vs waiting...at anytime, they could disappear with other members booking.
