I have booked a short stay at my home resort but am hoping to switch resorts and extend the stay at the 7 month mark. Can this be done online or do I have to call member services? I looked around the member website but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

You can only add a dining plan or cancel the entire reservation. Any other changes must be made by MS.

When the 7 month window opens for the first night you want to add, you can make a new reservation online. If you make the new reservation for exactly the same kind of villa at the same resort, you can call MS and ask to have the two reservations linked.

As Michael posted above, there are only limited things you can do with an existing reservation. At this time, we cannot modify a reservation via the online system.

Thanks. I guess because I want to replace the current reservation with a new one I can cancel and start over. However, I want to make sure that there is availability at another resort before I cancel the existing reservation. Kind of seems like a hassle!

Where online can you add the dining plan? I made a reservation online a few weeks ago and did not see an option to select the dining plan. It didn't matter to me since I always wait until the 48 hour mark so I have more time to come up with the money to pay for it but since it was brought up I would like know where you can do it online since I didn't see it myself.

I even had to call in today to add my usual requests.

If you review your existing reservation, you will notice on the left of the page a link that allows you to add the DDP.

I'm guessing you have to call to switch points. However, you can always book a new reservation with your points and then cancel your older reservation. I did this recently, but you would have to have the extra points to do this. It worked fine when I did it this way. I thought at first that it might not let me as it would see me with 2 reservations with the same dates and same names, but it wasn't an issue. I knew if I had waited the hour for MS to open, the reservation would be gone.

Thank you. Until you pointed it out I never noticed that option. Now when I choose which DDP it even gives me the prices for all three plan options. Cool!

Yeah that is my problem. I don't have enough points to carry both at the same time. I'm thinking about looking for availability then canceling the old reservation, and then booking the new one. I'm assuming once I cancel online the points are instantly returned to my account. Such decisions!
