Can properties become more than 160 pts/week?

I know that DVC properties have a finite number of points so if one timeframe goes up in points, another has to go down. But what about properties in the world passport collection? Can they go up in point values? What would cause them to go up in point values? Is it tied into how attractive the DVD properties are to other people who own THOSE timeshares?

Only the DVC resorts have the fixed 'total' point package.

Points for any non-DVC usage can change. This applies to all the collections.

Now, with II, the points are based on an exchange. For example the 160 points represents an OKW 1-B/R resort for 7 days in Adventure season. Since it's a direct exchange week for week, they will probably keep it at whatever the DVC point chart is.

So, just guessing, it probably will not change unless DVC starts using something different than OKW-Adventure season as the basis for the points, or it would definitely change if the OKW points were reallocated somehow and that 160 point OKW 1-B/R week changed to some other amount of points.

Just my take on it.

I remember when they changed the points to 160 maximum for an exchange. They did that as a promo to get people to exchange more. I think we were on a member cruise when they announced it. I remember an example they used at the time, a week in hawaii was costing about 196 pts but they lowered it to 160. I never paid attention but i guess they kept this going since then. so i would assume this is something that could change at any time. They specifically said back then they were trying to entice members to book outside of the DVC resorts.
