can points be broken up

If you own 1000 points as one package, it cannot be broken up.

You cannot break up contracts -- only Disney can do that. However, if your point total is made up of several smaller contracts, you can sell those contracts individually.

If you take advantage of the current incentive for existing DVC members can you ask to have the 120 point add on broken up into two 60 point contracts?

Hmmm...That would definately be a good idea. As to whether DVC will still apply the promo, that is certainly something to ask your guide, unless someone on the boards has already asked. I'm guessing that they wouldn't allow it with the promo because it would involve extra filing fees with Orange County, but it never hurts to ask and they may surprise you.

During their last 120 point add on promotion I purchased 240 points and had it broken into 3 80 point contracts so it is worth asking.

Currently you can buy into SSR resort at a 15% discount if you have a referal. You will have various threads explaining the promotion. For anyone that is interested this has been one of the better promotion. After the discount your are paying $83.30 per point versus $98.

Most of my points were purchased thru promo add-ons, and I broke up all of them.

My biggest contract pointwise is our initial BCV contract. THe rest of the add-ons were split in half. MS loves me, but they do a great job!

I did an add on a while back and the incentive was for 100+ pts. I had 75 pts. for my Sept. use year and 25 for my Oct. use year. And, by the way, if you can avoid multiple use years I recommend it. Certainly not impossible to handle, but a pain in the neck.
