Can part of group upgrade dining plan?

Hi,

DD, DSiL, DH and myself are taking DGS (will be almost 3) to WDW for his 1st time next March. We are so excited!

We are ready to book, but I have a question. I know everyone on the same reservation must purchase the same type of ticket and same dining plan (free) when we book. My question is would it be possible for DD and DSiL to upgrade from their free QS plan to the regular dining plan once we arrive, or would all of us have to upgrade? We will have 2 rooms but were planning on booking all on one reservation to make things easier.

Everyone on the reservation must upgrade, and it must be done prior to arrival. (I believe at least 3 days prior).
You could break it down to 2 separate reservations.

If you need two rooms than they have to be two seperate reservations anyway therefore yes your inlaws can upgrade their dining plan. They do not guarantee that two rooms will be right next to each other but they do try if you request it.
