Can one book one of the Paris DisneyLand hotels without the package.
I hate to pay park admission for my last day, since likely I will need to catch a flight home early in the day.
I even hesitate to plan a park visit my first day, since I like to go to the parks as early as they open.

If I use my DVC points, not only does it include park admission, it includes park admission for 4 (and does not seem to cost less if I am only one).

If I book via www.disney.com, the price does go up for each additional person in the room, but there is no way to not include park admission for the first and last days.

What other hotels are in walking distance from the parks (30 minute walk or less), and/or have good park shuttle service?

Thank you
- Eileen

I know you can just book "room-only" rates if you are a AP holder!
But can somebody tell me were you can find out that rates?
Disney offers a discount of 25% for a room only rate for the SL for the "Cars" preview on 9th and 10 June. But I would like to know how much that rate is! Can somebody help? :)

You can book Disney Hotels through expedia.co.uk. You could alternatively stay in one of the hotels nearby which are only a 5-10 min free shuttle ride from the parks. They operate approx every 15-20 mins and provide an excellent service. :thumbsup2
There's the Explorer's Hotel, Holiday Inn, Movenpick Dreamcastle, Kyriad or the newly opened Radisson. I've stayed in the Explorer's and the Holiday Inn. The latter was cheaper and more luxurious but was slightly less family orientated. We booked through the Holiday Inn website.
Explorer's was better for kids but was a little more expensive for us as we couldn't fill the room. They were also a little more basic.
Can't comment on the rest as I haven't stayed in them but I found them to be a good alternative to the Disney hotels which are pricey.
Hope this helps! :Pinkbounc

We've also stayed at the Explorers and have walked to/from the parks as an alternative to catching the shuttle. It takes about 25 minutes.

Marcus, not sure but I think you have to phone and ask for AP rates.

Hi,

The posts are all helpful.

I am thinking about booking the Moevenpick Dream Castle hotel.
I think that I might not want to book a very American Themed hotel, while I am in France. If I lived in France, and was visiting something very American within France, then I might really want an American theme of some sort.

Will the staff at the non Disney owned hotels, in the area, be likely to speak English?

Thank you
- Eileen

Eileen, I've only stayed at the Explorers but found all the staff on reception could speak English, albeit some better than others. I am sure the Movenpick would be the same. :goodvibes

The holiday inn certainly do and they often have great prices on their website

Stay at the HI from personal experience..The DLP hotels on property were small and not at all like WDW or DLR..save some money and visit a hotel on property to check them out..

If you want to feel part of the magic then staying on-site is better IMHO, but for better value the off-site hotels are hard to beat :)

Which holiday Inn is near Disney? We are planning a trip in spring of 2007 because my daughter is studying abroad in Nantes, Fr and we will definitely visit Disney. thank you.

There is one Holiday Inn in the resort! It is called Holiday Inn Disneyland Resort Paris! You can book this one on the Holiday Inn page! It is easy to find! :)
