My dd's fave dvd is Disney Sing Along Songs Campout, so you can image how excited I was to learn about the Chip and Dale campout! The only bad thing is that we are staying offsite (parents' timeshare), and the writeup says that the singalong is free for resort guests.

I would definately pay to be able to go! Do you know if there is any way offsite guests can pay to go? Are they very strict about checking for resort IDs?

TIA- this would just make my dd's birthday trip, but I don't want to mention it to her if I don't know if we will be able to do it or not. She'll be so dissapointed if we try to go but get turned away.

Thanks for your advice and input!!!!!

You sure can, the more the merrier :goodvibes They don't check or anything. Just park at hoop de doo parking and hop a bus to meadows trading post.

Yay! My daughter is going to be so psyched. thanks for the info!

Have a super time and don't forget, they will call the birthday people (adults and kids!) to the front for a special song!!

Just don't catch the Fort Wilderness bug, or you'll never stay anywhere else!

Oh my god, she is going to love that, as long as she does not get shy (she will be 3).

How many people are normally at the campfire?

It really depends on when you're going -- but it's usually pretty packed when we go! Try to get there early, so you can get a spot on the benches toward the front!

I think you can as long as you know someone staying at the campground, they can put you on the guest list

If you are not staying on property and go to the campfire program I am going to tell on you if I find out!!!!!

Ha ha just kidding. I think if you aren't staying on property you should at least buy your smores pack at FW just to be polite. If you've already been to the parks and spent a fortune lol then take advantage of it lol. I think a smores pack is $8 and it's pretty good size. I doubt anybody would really care if you come and have a blast. Go for it.

I was wondering about this also. We are going to be staying at Pop Century but I had wanted to take some time & go to the campground to scout it out for future trips and to go to the campfire one evening.

I will def buy the smores pack- hey, I would even seriously pay to enter the campfire!

Well then.....make your check payable to Rhonda, and PM me for my address! I promise I'll pass it on to the Campfire Payment Team! ;)

There is no need to do that. I think officially, the campfire is for guests staying onsite. But sshhhhh, I did it last December with a friend when we were just spending time at FW (I'm local). We did the wagon ride, enjoyed walking around the Christmas Lights, and did the campfire and watched a portion of the movie. Normally I'm staying onsite when I go, but she'd never seen FW.

If you search this forum you can find many tips for the campfire. Some of the basics are.
Arrive early giving yourself plenty of time for WDW transportation.
Bring something to sit on, a towel folded or a cushion
The chuckwagon has food, drinks and snacks if you dont want to carry your own.
Be prepared to sing along and clap.
Chip can sometimes be ornary and is prone to hat stealing.
bring your camera for pics with Chip and Dale.
It is socially acceptable to roast hot dogs at the campfire ;)

If you go you MUST tell the CM at campfire that we said "howdy"

We first found the campfire while staying at another resorts, our boys were younger, around Kindergarten age. We were permanent fixtures after that, we would go at least a few times every trip even though we werent staying at FW.

Have fun and please let us know how you enjoyed it when you get back.

Scott

PS... Rhonda, whats the split going to be on the fee ?

:rotfl: You guys are too funny!

Anyway, thanks for the info. My dd is going to be so thrilled! Every time I play my WDW mp3s and she heard fort wilderness resort and campground mentioned on the monorail, she always says 'CAMPOUT?!?!' So she is going to be so psyched to see her fave video coming to life, in a way!

Thanks again.

UH... I was serious. ;)

Where are the smores sold and what time is the show?

Smore kits are available at the chuckwagon (right behind the bleachers) along with other goodies.
During the summer the singalong starts at 8 and the movie at 8:40
when the times change in the fall it will be 7 and 7:40
