Can my son use my DDE card?

My son and his girlfriend are visiting WDW in May. Since he technically has my address as his permanent address, is he entitled to use the card for dining discounts? TIA

You now have to pay for a second card, I'm not sure if it's still restricted to spouse's only. So I don't think anyone but the cardholder can use it, otherwise there would be no reason to buy a second card.

When we went in January, I got the temporary card in my name, but my husband always paid the bill with his credit card, and no one asked for ID or anything. They just assumed that he was my husband. Now we have our permanent card, and I haven't tried that. I wouldn't trust it to always work though.

The technical answer is no. The person to whom the card belongs must be present at the meal.

However, we have often shown the card and they automatically deduct the 20% without asking for any other form of ID. Could you count on this working? Absolutely not, and it would be pretty embarassing if they questioned why a young man was using a card with a woman's name on it.

An extra card can be purchased if you share the same address, but the price is now $25.

Your AP will be sufficient. You are just ordering him an extra card on your membership. There is no DDE requirement to show an AP to receive
discounts.

The AP (or being a FL resident) is what makes you eligible to purchase the card, but once purchased they are independent of each other.

Call the DDE office and they will issue you the second card.
